not true. My local FYE has a decent selection. I've found Orange Goblin, Dream Theater, Agalloch, Liquid Tension Experiment, Stratovarius, Helloween, Sleep, Celtic Frost, Angra, Symphony X, and more there. Hell, I've even found Zandelle there. That shocked me.

But it's still not good enough for me. I can't even find everything I want on Amazon. If I could, I'd order Otyg, Odroerir, Myrkgrav, etc. I also wish I could find Fleurety's last album online.

So my friend Russel was at a friends house and he put in a burned CD into her stereo. The song, he says, started out with "a folky mandolin and piano playing. it was soft you know, but still gnarly, like it had a heavy down beat and stuff." then it turned to metal. He didn't remember the CD's label very well (it said something like "ascent") so he texted her, and she said it was Ascendency or something like that. I checked metal-archives, and the two artists named "ascendency" weren't folk metal or anything, one was black and one was death. Also we weren't able to find the artist or anything related (the closest thing we got to was a trivium album called Ascendency, blech).

Do you guys have any idea what he listened to?

and dragonforce are not that great live, they arent awful but the vocalist is as weak as poo and is often drowned out or sounds generally bad when compared to firewinds vocalist (who were supporting along with All That Remains) also they didnt get the setup right (or just turned it up really loud) and there was an annoying wobble on the vocals at high pitch moments and the same with the guitars

They're horrible most of the time, according to some concert-goers. Look up their Graspop 2006 appearance on YouTube. You can see how horrible they play sometimes.

A few songs are a bit faster. Machete Mirage on Bucketheadland Vol. 2 is just as fast, if not faster.
A few others too: John Merrick - Elephant Man Bones Explosion, Soothsayer, A couple songs from his Cuckoo Clocks of Hell album, Nottingham Lace and Botnus from what I've heard.
