So, since everyone else was stating their opinion on what the best subgenres of metal are (although they were stated as though they were fact) I'll share my opinion. My favorites are progressive, doom, avant-garde/post-black (with mainly clean vocals) and folk (with mainly clean vocals). In my opinion, they are all tied as the greatest subgenres of metal.
