I was Candlemass's top week listener last week on last.fm ^___^ But his(theirs?) vocals are super epic, which a lot of doom metal doesnt seem to be(from most of what I heard here and there). And its still a more obviously so, heavier/slower/tranquil sound compared to any brutal type metal.
When i listen to Candlemass, Im not ready or in the mood to start busting down doors, man. Thus, tranquil.

Ulver's new album, Shadows of the Sun, is their best. Get it if you are into human emotion, it's really dark and really depressive, but this time the atmosphere is warmer and more human.
