last I checked, Slayer and Metallica were considered metal, Lamb of God was borderline

I was just labeling the ones that aren't metal. The other's weren't supposed to be grouped with it. I left the ones that I considered metal alone.

I know what metal is, and yes, there is a difference between newer and older metal, Black Sabbath was considered metal in the 90s. Now there classic rock, Rob Zombie, and Slipknot have a slower touch. Slayer does have a more loud, satanic message. And everyone has different taste in metal, seriously, just because you dont like a band and someone else does, the fuck you. I still stand by liking Slipknot, I never said they were death metal, but I would say they do slightly fall into the metal catagory, like the song 555 To The 666, thats awfully metal to me. And Iron Maiden, they arent considered metal anymore, they've been out for a while, but you have to admit, they're a classic, 666 The Number of the beast, is one of their best, not metal. Definatly more on the rock side, but there are some attributes that make them metal, including lyrics, and the instrumentals. So, im not all about the new metal, most of it is exellent, but then band like Korn, who claim to be metal, SUCK. And, its not like I listen to Fall Out Boy, seriously. I say that metal has many different sides, I like most, but not all.
