Gawd.... the Aussie Gigantour just got raped not that the line up already wasn't a dud.
Megadeth
Static-X
DevilDriver
Lacuna Coil

And now they've added Bring Me The Horizon... of all bands,

Glad I didn't get a ticket to that. :D

This signature makes use of various clichés and/or 'emotional' lyrics/quotes, hopefully it makes me appear deep.

Wow, that's definitely a lously line up. (I also bet that Scabbia will sing the new "A Tout Le Monde" with Mustaine...)

Response to Metal Hell 2007-09-13 03:46:23

Fuck, that is a shit line-up. I wouldn't have gone to that either, even though Megadeth are playing, and Dave Mustaine is a god to me.

Buy their tickets? Its harder to say no to a free show. Not much to loose.

Do you like their newer albums? I'm the only one I know who actually enjoys Youthanasia. I haven't heard anything past that though, so I don't know anything about what they sound like now.

I actually loved Youthanasia. However, their newer is sound is getting weak. Even TSHF i listened to a few good times before I pretty much dropped the album, and had a good solid favs. United Abominations doesnt really have anything that grasps me into the album. I think I listened over it seriously once, and haven't bothered again yet.
I think I would have actually been glad to see Megadeth be done at TSHF, doing their final victory lap after their tour and letting Dave go onto his solo work.

Youthanasia was pretty much their last alright album. I own every album from Megadeth except their latest, and I can tell you with all honesty that you're lucky you havn't heard past Youthanasia. You have been saved extrememe dissapointment. Especially when they say, "Yeah, we're going back to our roots, and this album is definitely are heaviest in years. I think it's our best album yet.', and it sucks balls. I just can't believe how fucked up Dave Mustaine is now. I mean, he's clean, he doesn't drink or do drugs, he supports Bush and the War In Iraq.... It's a shame really.

I've probably enjoyed them both more than I have with Youthanasia. I dunno why, it just never clicked with me. Perhaps I haven't given it enough chance. There's only about 4 songs I really enjoy on that album.
On Cryptic Writings there's probably a few more songs I really enjoy, but on Risk I really dig most of the songs.
I think it's cool that their sound changed over the years.

I always loved that part, along with:

What about elephants?
(What about us?)
Have we lost their trust?
(What about us?)
What about crying whales?
(What about us?)
We're ravishing the seas;
(What about us?)
What about forest trails?
(Oooooooh)
Burnt despite our pleas!

Poignant.

Ok guys, what are metal drinks? I submit to you that beer is the mainstay, Jack Daniels(followed by other not high class whisk(e)ys) and vodka. Also, if you're in the UK, snakebite and black.

Anything else?

I was expecting someone to say this, and I say thee NAY. Jager is an all over popular drink, and I think you're more likely to find fratboys doing jager shots than anyone else.

To be fair though, at a metal pub I go to to they do send around a guy in a moose costume along with 2 scantily clad women selling it in test tubes.
