Anyway just a couple of questions, when do you want the department purpose done for? and also I had an idea. I understand the departments have to be freinds but how about some competition between the departments in these comps?

You don't have to be online everyday. There aren't many commitments that you have to make to the NGDD other than making at least one post every two weeks.

I'm planning to open the new thread next weekend, pending no objections. So if the departments could have their stuff done by then, that would be great. I'll message the department leaders on Thursday to arrange what day and time to open the thread to make sure all the leaders get the first posts. And I'll post an updated member list on Thursday.

Unless any objections are posted within the next 2 days, I see no reason why you cannot be accepted into the Audio Dept. as "Private" (as per the new guidelines)
The complete Audio Dept. guidelines will be posted soon but for now keep an eye on trends in the AP if you can - monitor hot topics in the AF over the next week and after 15 days (on June 6th) you will be eligible for a meritorious promotion and given a title.
Important -
After 15 days, only your eligibility will change, you will not automatically be granted a new title. You will need to specifically request advancement, this is so that only pro-active personnel are given additional roles and new titles.

So far, I've seen several "Can I join" posts followed up with the obligatory "what department" - It would make more sense if when someone asked to join thay also specify a dept. in their post.

AnalPenguinFarming, as per rearrangement, there are now 4 availbele departments for you to choose from - Flash, Audio, BBS, and Internal Affairs. Just select one for now and you'll be placed in that one.

A website layout would be good too. It would be easier to use for members to find news and the such.

The Newgrounds Department of Defense
Welcome to the NGDD! Our purpose is to band together to serve Newgrounds. We have had a long history of 380 pages and are one of the oldest surviving clubs/crews on NG. We have decided to start and continue using this thread as our active thread to create more interest in the NGDD and to clarify what our purpose and activities consist of in the first page.
Activities
The NGDD will have many competitions, b/p, Flash, audio, review, random quizzes, etc. When you participate in a competition, you will earn a certain amount of points depending on your performance in the competition. These points will be able to be redeemed for Newgrounds merchandise or a promotion within the club. Other ways to earn points is to do various things for the NGDD, such as running a competition.
Club Structure
There are four main departments: The Department of Flash, The Department of BBS, The Department of Audio, and the Department of Internal Affairs. A member of the NGDD will be able to join or switch to any one of the departments, the Department of Internal Affairs can only be joined if your rank is higher than Private. Each department is headed by a leader (already selected from the previous thread) and afer this post each leader will post what their departments purposes are and the expected duties of their members.
Joining the NGDD
So you want to join the NGDD? All you need to do is to post saying which department you would like to be in, excepting the Internal Affairs (see above). There are no requirements to join the NGDD, but you will be automatically dishonourably discharged and lose all points if a post is not made in two weeks without prior notice. Also, all new members will be ranked as Privates for fifteen days after which, they will be promoted by their Department leader to your participation in the NGDD.
