But even while playable early month good luck getting the last few medals as only @Optimos has been able to pull it off as the usual behavior is the game freezes precisely when you beat the last level of one of those worlds, rather than advancing onward. And even @Optimos was only able to get it to work one time but he did get it to work one time. You can ask him.

Likely you'll need to play the game early month *and* get whatever kinds of lucky the game actually passes you on past a certain point rather than freezing. And yes a freezing unrelated to the use of nutcasenightmare medals API.

The game still has freezing issues. That has not been fixed.

This game can feel all luck based and less skill based. Having to reset the game to avoid freezing can reset your forward progress. Ugh

About the Build the Snowman game: it rather has nothing to do with any forms of API and the date you are playing it. Like DoctorStrongbad wrote the game became unplayable again, I checked it soon after his post appeared-and it was freezing, while when I played it just few seconds ago (finishing 1st and 10th levels) it again worked perfectly and the medals showed up.

Yes well, suffice to say I wrote my review of that game before I had gotten far enough to realize it had these kinds of issues, because you can actually get the first two medals and right up to what should be the third precisely before the freezing hits near-always.

That said, it also is nutcase-nightmare API which means in addition, later in the month, even the first two are gonna freeze you.

Yes, it is not only unreliable, but also annoying. It feels like a craps shoot if you will get the medals that you earn. Also the lack of a save feature, just adds to the frustration.

This is 100% true and has led me to bashing my fucking brains in on a brick wall. The game worked perfectly but was unpublished due to having copyrighted music. When that happened, I went and updated it in Flash CS3 (the original was made in Flash 8) and somehow the medals stopped working when exported from that version. And now that I've saved it in CS3, the file can't be opened in Flash 8 anymore.

In theory I could try to get a hold of CS4, 5, and 6 to see if ANY of those can export the project in a state where medals work, but it seems like a lot of trouble, especially when medals might completely break once Flash is discontinued.

Sorry for the ping, but I just came across this game and found this post. It seems like it would be fun to try to 100% so I was wondering if you've made any progress on the issue.

Unfortunately, no. Partly I've been busy with other things, and partly there's been a general lack of demand for the medals to be fixed. Considering Hungry Joe is still the largest project I've ever worked on, I'd love to republish it, but were that the case I would likely remake the entire thing for a new platform. Chances are the Flash version will stay as-is.

Perhaps unfortunately they didn't work for you at the time you played the game, but that's not how we define broken medals, even if you were cheated out of the medals.

Clear your cache and try again.

Some medals can be problematic or require several tries before they'll register, but if they still are awarding to others, then they don't count as broken according to the rules.

I recommend keeping a personal tally of unawarded medals. You can try again at a later date. I do so. It counts as a broken medal if it's not awarding to you after you've tried all the tricks to get problematic medals to award, and others are also no longer able to obtain the medal.

Also it's pretty common with brand spanking new games that they may have problems with the medals, so I'd recommend wait at least a few days to see if new game fixes by the author solve any of the medal problems with it, which they often do.

Wipo just broght up a black screen. SITI brought up a webGL message. It says I should use Firefox... which is annoying because I am using Firefox. I get that occasionally. Probably the same error, just my computer's version of it. :\

The same error appears on all other websites this game is located on. I found an e-mail of the author and sent him a message about this.

I switched both of them. Can't test them much at the moment since I've gotta head out to work. Let me know if anything changes.
