Yeah, I love the characters like him (her?) I'm trying to find something more to do with them but they don't lend themselves to much. Here's a little timeline thing I made of his evolution
1st appearance
2nd
2.5 when he merged with spedmallet's character in the Battle Royale (which we should totally revive some time)
and of course the current one above.
More watercoloring.
Sort of a mid transformation for this character
I get that it's supposed to be busy and stuff, but the character in the middle is sort of lost in the composition, and there's nothing to really lead the eye anywhere other than maybe the tongue and the giant hand. In a composition like this I think it'd be cool to have some sort of continuity leading the eye around the canvas.
I also think it might be a good idea to be more economic in your use of color, value and level of detail. If everything's equally detailed and busy, then nothing seems detailed and busy. By adding areas where not much is going on, you'll be putting more emphasis on the areas where shit's happening, making it pop even more!

Yeah man, I definitely get what you're saying, I'm really not a fan of how I went about doing this, I finished the lady in the middle and the face on the left and then realized I had pretty much drawn myself into a hole as far as the composition went. It took me a long time to finish because of how many attempts I made to fix it, even with lintires input (which probably saved me from just abandoning the drawing all together) until today I had been putting off working on it. Next time I'm definitely going be doing some more prep work.

That's too bad, I guess I'll step up and ref. I have some planning to do.
Here's a painting thing.

I'll just watch from the sidelines like some father who's always appeared to be cold and bitter, but he secretly cares a lot and comes to his son's football games but stays off to the side, hidden from view.
Scribbling things, going to redo this one in color later.

Still need to finish the colored version of that, in the mean time here's the original sketch of the linked finish drawing!
Bonus little monster dude in the right corner.
Wow, really great stuff. Im absolutely blown away by your level of detail and how far you are willing to take it. You seem to be pretty knowledgeable when it comes to your figures too. Just over all wow

Thanks, glad to see you appreciate all the details, they're a lot of fun to do even though they take a while I definitely think they're well worth it.
Also on the figures, thanks I've been doing a lot of practice with them lately and am still working on getting them more dynamic and expressive. It's good to know the work is showing.
Also while I'm here, here are some random scribbles from downtime at school
Been pretty busy lately, a lot of birthdays this month in my family, so I've been working on drawings for them. I've also been trying to do that Inktober thing too. I'll try to get my shit together on the Battle Royal, no real excuse for that.
So here's a bunch of drawings in the meantime.
Ink Samurai
Ink Ninja Girl Thing
Ink Alien Dude
Ink Jet Pack
School project reference
More to come tomorrow or so.
