Hey Guys , i see ive been inactive for a long time , heh. got banned for blamming the muffin club , GRRR , well dont want to read the other stuff , to lazy , so im gonna start off saying hey guys , what did i miss ?

hmmm, havent been round the past four days, but yeah, from looking about, i guess i havent missed that much that ive already discussed in previous topics in General...

I went to one of the local music stores today (in the chain Sanity) and was amazed, for the first time i'd ever been in one of those stores and talked to an employee, the person actually knew who i was on about (Megadeath), it was nice to know they hire people who have interests outside whats popular...

Also, i'm looking to find out when tickets are on sale for the Killswitch Engage tour down here, i'll definetly have to check that out, even if it takes forging identification....

also, i envy the guy who went and saw Chimaira, that wou8ldve been a good show, i also envy all those who saw Spineshank in concert before Johnny left, and those who saw Ill Nino before they bought out their new album ( in my opinion, it sucks in comparison to their first, they definetly took the wrong path from their first album, going up the trail of What Comes Around instead of classics like If You Still Hate Me, Liar or I Am Loco)

Welcome back guys. Hey -JERK- that's pretty cool man, I notice most employees at CD Plus or any record/cd store only know a little bit of music, and just mostly popular stuff. So that's pretty cool that the person liked Megadeath. This weekend I plan to get a couple new cds including Smashing Pumpkins- Greatest Hits. Anyone here buy Guitar World or Guitar One magazines?

I'll post here gotta love Rock :D I was raised on it I've still got a bunch of old great vinyl from my dad and uncles from the glory days of music, namely before rock was replaced with pop in the mainstream.

As far as my favorites go they always seem to lean towards the old school like GNR, Iron Maidan, The Ramones, Led Zepelin but I've still got love for newer metal/punk. Still I can't stand a lot of the new stuff I hear these days... the Simpe Plans and 3 Day's Graces of the world grrrrr.

Awesome man.. I am guessing the video is at MTV Studios in 1992. That's the most popular video of the song.. it was written by the Vaselines though. Nirvana's version is better.

I like Pink Floyd a lot. I was just watching Wizard of Oz synched with Dark Side of the Moon last night. My favourite albums of theirs are Dark Side and Wish you Were Here. They're great.

As for the Ramones and Sex Pistols, all their songs sort of sound the same, as does most punk. But punk is great for young bands like mine to play.

Does anybody like U2? They were great up until a few years ago. Their newer stuff like "Beautiful Day" kind of blows. Some of their good songs are Sunday Bloody Sunday, Still Haven't Found what I'm Looking For and Where the Streets Have No Name. They have long song titles...

I agree, Master of the Puppets is my favorite Metallica song as well.. St. Anger is just wrong. Metallica just needs to stop selling that CD and burn them all. The only thing that annoys me is the fact that most 'posers' who say they like metal, come out with 'My favorite band is metallica!!!' weeee. Main stream metal.. It really shouldn't count..

I like many, many, many bands but those are the cream of the crop for me.

I enjoy most all types of rock, including classic rock, metal, punk, and alternative.
I HATE pop-punk (Blink 182, Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, and many other clones) and pretty much all the latest MTV-friendly poser-metal bands (Evanescence, Smile Empty Soul, and shit like that).

I've got one question though: What do you guys think of ska? I love ska, and even though a lot of ska bands fuse it with punk, I'm not sure whether or not you guys would consider it rock. Opinions? (Don't slaughter me if ska was mentioned earlier in this thread, I didn't read all the pages)

Yeah. That's cool, I don't care if it's real or fake. It must be slightly doctored though, cause you can't hear any drums on the backwards one. Maybe the guy just lowered the bass on the track so you could hear the words. And if you read the comments people had about it, you can find out some more stuff.

As for new Mettalica and old, it's definately Old > New. But there are some good songs on the St. Anger album.
