Ahh Super Tecmo Bowl, so fun a game. I remember when I was younger my brother and friends would play that every Sunday before or after the Eagles game. And it was pretty decent for as far as 8-bit games go. I especially liked the music, specifically the dramatic change when there would be a turnover.

Yeah, I like it a lot. Though, I'm trying to figure how they figured out all of the stats. It's a mismatch of players from the 1991-Preseason and the 1990 season, I think. Also, it was actually designed by Japanese people, which is just weird.

Sebastian Janikowski and the Oakland Raiders agreed on a $16 million, four-year deal Tuesday that is the richest contract for a kicker in NFL history, the team said. Janikowski will be guaranteed $9 million in the deal.

Janikowski is coming off the best season of his 10-year career. He made 26 of 29 field goals, with his only misses coning from 45, 57 and 66 yards. He made six kicks of at least 50 yards, including a 61-yarder that was the fourth longest in NFL history.

The focus now turns to defensive lineman Richard Seymour. Oakland traded a 2011 first-round pick to New England for Seymour before last season. He had four sacks, but two of the them came in the season opener. If Oakland cannot sign Seymour to a long-term deal by Feb. 25, the team is expected to use the franchise tag to keep him for next season. Seymour, a five-time Pro Bowler, would be guaranteed $12,398,000 with a franchise tag.

Hmm, maybe they had most of the game programmed before the draft and they didn't think to add him. Then again I no longer have my copy of the game and I don't currently have it on an emulator, so perhaps he was just listed as QB Falcons, like Randall was QB Eagles?

Randall was only QB Eagles because he didn't want to give up the rights to his name & likeness being portrayed in video games. Brett wasn't even a starter at that point, so I doubt it.

He kicked a 61 yard field goal in the rain this year. He has the potential to break the NFL record for longest, which is 63. I agree with keeping him. Lechler too. We've got the best kickers in the NFL for sure now. What sucks is that we hired Baltimores old QB coach who developed Flacco to, as Al Davis put it, "Develop Jamarcus into the QB we all want him to be." Gradkowski is 1 year older than Jamarcus and showed ten times the potential as a starter in one quarter than Jamarcus showed in the first nine games. Gradkowski threw 3 touchdowns in the 4th quarter to beat the Steelers last year in a tough game. We went 2 and 1 under him. Yeah, I've done some extensive research and you are correct. Brett Favre is not in this game. It's a pity, though. It would have been fun to play as the NFL's old man when he was just a rookie.

I only found that out recently because Kotaku had an article detailing how when video games first came out, prior the Players' Associations stepping in, various athletes refused to allow their likeness to be used in videogames and thus have never been shown in a game. It happens more in baseball than football, but Randall was a big name.

Yeah, I'm surprised he didn't sign with the Giants who, after the Plaxico incident, have been in need of a good WR. Steve Smith played great, but Hixon seems to have hands like bricks sometimes, and Nicks played good for a rookie, but I don't know if in the next years he'll progress or regress.

I'm also surprised Snyder didn't pick him up with the way he likes to throw money around. Maybe Shanahan kiboshed that. As for Dallas and Philly, well Philly doesn't need a WR like the other teams do, and I don't know if Jerry can convince his creditors that spending more money right now is wise with his ass in hock for that stadium.

Raiders released WR Javon Walker and DE Greg Ellis.

Walker caught 15 passes for 196 yards and one touchdown in two injury-plagued seasons in Oakland after signing a $55 million free-agent contract with an $11 million signing bonus before the 2008 season. Walker restructured the deal last year and will be paid $2.6 million this season despite his release.

At least we're gaining some semblance of sense...although our FA tenders would dictate otherwise. Now if we just give Louis Murphy and Chaz Schillens time as our two main WRs, sit, trade or release Heyward-Bey, and don't draft Dez Bryant (which seems like a dangerously high possibility) and we'll be on the right track.

...then again I figured the bears would've maybe attempted to bring back Jones into the fold after a few years away. Na, the Bears signed Chester Taylor from Minny on the same day they signed Peppers. Taylor's supposed to play split backs with Forte and help him not suck as much.

As for Brown, I guess because it's the Bucs they managed to get a 6th-rounder, but yeah I'm a little surprised too given that I don't recall him playing at all last season. Maybe a caught pass here and there.

Giants and Jets to flip coin for stadium opening game.

Them's the breaks for a city that wishes to have 2 NFL franchises and just 1 facility to house them both. Could be worse though, you could be L.A. and plain not have a team at all.

Still, it's a shame the NFC East and AFC East don't play each other this year. When you've got a stadium that holds 85,000+ you've got plenty of seats for both fanbases to make some noise. I mean, imagine the idea of one side the stadium clad in red and blue and the opposite in green and white. It would look so cool, and I'd force the Jets bench to have their backs to Giants fans and vice-versa for more of a noise factor.

Sure will be Chris Simms' replacement as they just cut him from the team. In the long run it can really only help the team out. In my opinion both of the quarterbacks are about equal in talent so if they are going to be fighting for the starting job their both going to be improving and striving to be the best that they can be.

He was actually one of my favorite players. He's very universal. He could easily be a 1,000 yard running back if he was used like that and he's also a pretty good fullback. If it wasn't for those darn injuries I would be a bit upset about this trade, but he's gotten hurt every year so far now.

Now to see if Delhomme is the starter and Wallace is the backup, or if another QB comes into the fold post-draft.

This will be pretty interesting. They may need a scrambler in Wallace because their protection tends to break down frequently and quickly. Delhomme on the other hand is on the down side of his career in my opinion.

If they aren't going to draft a quarterback it would seem that Delhomme would be the starter this year and Wallace would be for the future.

The thing that pissed me off is that with the money Jake is getting from the Panthers this year, he's set to make ~$20 million. Twenty million, for a guy who is average at best when it comes to taking snaps under center. Fuck man.

As for Orton v. Quinn, Orton is the better overall QB at this point. More polished, more accurate, better rapport with his receivers, but a weaker arm. If Quinn can develop a good relationship with Broncos receivers (specifically Eddie Royal and/or Tony Scheffler, since Baby T.O. is on the way out) and improve his accuracy behind a better OL (which should be fairly plausible as you get more time to make a decision), I think his prospects are fairly good in Denver, and I've never been a Quinn fan whatsoever, dating back to his Notre Dame/Charlie Weis butt-buddy days.

Chris Simms just sucks. He's always been pretty ehh, even back in Jersey in HS. He got by because of his last name, but the upside he had was raped when he ruptured his spleen a couple years back.

I honestly think Seneca Wallace would make a superb Wildcat QB and a good decoy/receiver as well. He's a pretty good QB and a deec scrambler, but his height kind of hinders his field vision which ultimately hurts his throws.

Recently Craig Carton attempts to rile up some Giant fans by claiming they're second class after the Jets finally made it to the playoffs for once.

With that said, who the heck is Craig Carton? Whoever he is, he should sponser some Grade F eggs if you know what I mean.
