Yes, taking away their SB spot is stupid.

Taking away their first round draft pick would do though they should take away the second round as well. With that said, the game should be closer than last year's at least.

Difference is that Brady generally performs well in the playoffs and the Pats usually takes good care of their defense which helps them contend consistently. While their defense wasn't as good as they were during their dynasty years, not even since 2008 but they can still rank the top ten in the scoring defense.

If the Seahawks defense can do their job like they have done last year and do what they usually do in this season as well, they can win this one. Marshawn Lynch will likely be a key factor in the game as well since the Pats will try to stop him in order to get Russell Wilson to pass, hoping that he'll struggle like he did for much of the NFC Championship game. If Wilson does struggle, the game can be in the Pats favor.

With that said, if the Colts want to win, rather than whining about the deflated ball, focus on getting a defensive lineman who can stop the run. While it may be difficult to find a Strahan-type player but it will help the Colts to shore up their run defense that has stunk for the past several years after Bob Sanders couldn't stay healthy anymore.

Did any of you bought into Pete Carroll's excuse on the play call he made?

Between the lame commercials and the terrible ending, 2015 was the worst Superbowl that I have seen it a long time.

Playcall was fine, Butler just made the GOAT defensive play

No, I don't, but that doesn't necessarily mean that there wasn't some degree of merit in it, considering that they were probably going to put everyone they can to stop either Lynch or Wilson getting in. Either Carroll knew this, or he decided that he'll pull another fast one on a superior Patriots team like they did in 2012 with a last second pass, and in retrospect, the Pats were going to be damned if the weakest part of the Seahawks was going to beat them on the last drive of the Super Bowl.

If nothing else, Carroll has always rolled the dice on stuff like this going back to USC with superior college talent, but especially in Seattle where the offensive talent beyond Lynch is inconsistent at best and dismal at worst.

If NE is guilty in deflate gate, will they be stripped of the SuperBowl victory and trophy?

really incredible. it'll be exciting to see what they do to put the team together this season. wonder how McCoy will run behind the Bills line.

The comparisons to the Bailey/Portis trade are apt.

Both teams have a lot to gain and a lot to lose from this trade. The Eagles took the bigger risk for sure but the Bills are taking on a lot of salary for McCoy and if he doesn't do better than Spiller (who i'm not sure is actually any worse than McCoy) it'll be a tough to recover the cap space.

So far the Bills offseason has been a mixed bag.

Ryan's hiring is eh

Firing Schwartz was retarded

This trade could be either brilliant or disastrous

We still don't have a quarterback and I am not too confident that our new OC is gonna fix things any better than the last one.

Fingers crossed though

they have an enormous amount of cap space to use this season. if they structure the contract so that all the mccoy money is paid in 2015 it's no big deal

this offseason has been pretty interesting thus far, wonder what comes next?

This should be interesting, maybe it'll help Geno Smith a bit but by how much? No idea.

I'm still not sold though.

Haha the Jets are lined up to be another shit show. Nobody throws a bigger hissy fit about bad quarterback play than BMarsh and Geno is a terrible quarterback. Should be fun to watch it unfold.

Looks like Suh is signing a mega-deal with Miami. That dude is a game-breaker. I hope he murders Brady.

If nothing else, Kelly is certainly putting his stamp on this team when he traded Desean Jackson and Lesean McCoy away, but I have no real idea where they are going with this, unless they somehow get DeMarco Murray.

On the other side, The Colts now have Frank Gore and Trent Cole, and Andre Johnson is showing serious interest in signing with them.

Kudos to the Jets for getting Revis back.

While it won't change much for the Jets aside from reducing their cap space but in the end, they did the right thing of getting their star player back. Now if the Jets can steal one game from the Pats next season, it'll be good since the only time teams who loses a game to the Jets or the Bucs manages to win the whole thing the same season is when the opposing team did the same.

If the Colts manages to get Andre Johnson, it could help turn the Colts into a more legitimate title threat though they still need to work on the run defense. People can whine and spew bovine excrement about deflated balls all they want (and you know how misreported it has been from the start), it still doesn't change the fact that they were blown out.

If nothing else, the Jets should be strong enough on defense to carry them close to .500, though that's never really been their problem in the recent past. That said, with Rex Ryan gone, maybe they can get a respectable enough offense going to be competitive in their own division, but I don't think they'll be challenging New England for the divisional crown and might not be able to hold off the Miami Dolphins, if they can stay focused the whole way through.

Speaking of defensive moves, the Bengals signed A.J. Hawk yesterday. Bias against Buckeye players aside, I really don't know why they made a deal with him, considering that he's no pass rusher and has been inconsistent at best at run stopping while in Green Bay. Hopefully, this is nothing more than just a roster filling spot in a position of need, because I would much rather have a capable backup QB or CB, but I guess there's the draft for that.

Which team do you think will be the biggest surprise this year? Not teams that always do well like New England or Denver.

very happy with cooper, would have been happy with williams there as well. if the package that the titans turned down for the #2 is true then that's an enormous fuck up. jfc that jets defensive front now. niners have potential for hilarious lol as well, they need defensive help now and they take an extremely raw prospect

also duke has a football team?

Well, I guess they aren't going to let this "Deflategate" die, even after everyone stopped caring about this a long time ago. Something tells me that Brady will probably get a slap on the wrist as a punishment, if he even gets punished at all.

I wonder how many people thinks the Colts would have won even though they have been blown out and demonstrated one oft he worst run defenses in the playoffs.

This sort of thing made me want to punch someone due to sheer stupidity involved.
