It's theoretically possible to adapt it for the newer browse page, but the whole thing is way less usable for medal hunting than the old view. Without the old layout, I also think it's impossible to revive my old Python medal scanner. We desperately need a public API for overall site medal data. We could create immensely improved ways to browse and hunt medals with that kind of access.
I've stated several times that indeed the medal system needs changes. But the few changes that we get to see through years and years are things that nobody asked for, like hiding the titles of secret medals or now removing the old layout, which was useful in many ways. I don't understand why.
For example, I've been asking for years for some kind of feature that allows the user to claim unawarded medals due to the NG server timeout issue, but nothing's changed and all we can do is hope that devs add it to their games themselves.
I'm always repeating this one over and over but it's very demotivating when you miss hard medals all the time because you forgot to refresh the tab after playing for more than 40? 50? minutes, and have to start from scratch.
And of course, the system as a whole needs a revamp, like a public API as you say, to allow for easier management of medal data. Even this thread, which was like a weekly reunion of medal hunters, has died out because of how deprecated the thing is. You guys really should contact Tom and make him aware of all these issues.
I understand that it must be hard to do these things, I have little to no programming knowledge and I can't imagine how hard it is to run a site like Newgrounds, but I think these changes are really needed and would be very welcome by users.
