So here's the deal: Story mode gives you the tutorial which tells you all the controls you'll ever need, and Arena mode explains how all the mechanics work, and what you can expect out of the characters you play. I don't know if the recruits Sanford and Deimos are identical to the story mode ones, but it seems like a reasonable assumption. Arena mode medals seem like a huge grind. It's nice and fun, but the red dudes really ruin your day in the higher waves. All my money for Sanford's hook plz! But yeah, hopefully I'll get an estimate on how long it takes to get the Genocider medal, as the early levels for ramping up your power and abilities don't give me an accurate picture of the long-run.

Some trivia on the Genocider: this achievement was originally in Dead Rising for killing 53,594 zombies in 72 mode. Why that number? Because that's apparently the population of the town the game takes place in. Left 4 Dead decided to 1up them by making the Genocidest achievement for killing 53,595 zombies.

Just to ad to this:

In Arena mode, the best weapon you can get is the M-249 rifle. It cost around 5,700 (7,000 for a slightly better version of it) and it comes with 200 ammo, and 1 extra clip. You can also occasionally get it in the arena from enemies who drop it - just press E to pick it up, if you don't have a weapon in hand, and you'll take it home at the end of the wave. The M-249 allows you to just stand in the middle of the map and mow down almost anything that comes towards you, allowing for easy kill rack up. You can also lose the rifle if you get knocked down by the enemy and don't pick it up by the end of the wave.

Starting at wave 11 you'll encounter mini-bosses. The only effective way to take them down, I found, is to holster your firearm, and use melee attacks on them to get their helmets off. Once off, take your firearm out and shoot them in the head until they go down.

The medals for it are working fine now, every medal is obtainable. Walkthrough is included in the flash, if you can't find one of the items.

Man that game took forever to get the Traveler medal (10,000 footsteps). Had to go back to level select several times to get it.

THe ending is broken. Most people will always end up being stuck at the chicken. It used to work when the game first caame out, but broke somewhere. I couldn't get past it either, so basically nothing you can do about it.

Hm, I maxed the power and abilities of my character, and played the fastest way I can think of. I think I was was able to get ~1500 kills an hour, but I didn't pay that much attention. I would say the real number is somewhat higher, but 2000+ seems too much. I'm definitely going for the 9001 medal, as I earned the 5k one yesterday while still having fun. 50k seems a bit much, but perhaps I'm missing something that can speed up the kills.

Though, I'm not sure if some of the medals are working (or if its just me). I'm sure I detonated the right amount of each firework, but no medals. Plus, it doesn't save, nor does it have a way to go back to the menu to check to see your progress toward the medal.

Those complaints aside however, it is a pretty fun game.

I got a PM from the author, saying that the problem should be fixed. I'm unable to check it though, because I got 'em the whole right-click/Play way a few days back. So if anybody's looking to get these medals, you probably will be able to now.

Thanks a LOT for are the work you've been doing, sir. I literally roffled out of my chair when I read DoctorStrongbads statement regarding medal problems (If we keep talking about it, maybe somebody will notice and fix the problem). Nice to see people are still taking initiative! =)

So yeah, the author fixed the problem in a very weird way. The right click trick has now been disabled, and the game still freezes at level 21, but the author reduced the required amounts to 5 instead of 500, so earning all the medals is really easy now.

The higher wave you achieve, the more guys that spawn over time. This includes the metal-clad dudes unfortunately, but meh. Did you do this with a full squad, or with a limited/nonexistent squad? Squad member kills do not count towards your career kills.

As for the 53k medal, sometimes it's just a matter of time and grinding.

In Left 4 Dead, someone posted a method that can be done in 1-2 days ("30k overnight" is what he said). Basically, play a certain level on Expert so that Tanks cannot spawn and blow down the safe room door. Spawn a Boomer, run back into the safe room, and let it puke on you. This will attract tons of zombies. Then just camp behind the door (not immediately behind it) and melee them all to death. Use whatever you have to keep the melee button held down. AFK.

Turns out my estimation was too low. I kinda guessed based on my entire playtime last night. I just clocked an hour while sipping my coffee (so there's still room for improvement) and I got 2282 kills. I just play with my character alone. I know the waves get bigger as you play on, but enemies are harder to kill, and whatever you do, you don't want to loose your M-249. I just pick another weapon at around wave 12, and let the target guy kill me. When I restart I grab the M-249 and go through the waves quickly again. No clue if this is the fastest way, but it seems pretty fast to me.

If you get past level 12 you should have more than enough money to buy another M-249 in the shop, when they randomly appear. I just stock pile them when I can. I probably have almost a dozen of by now. As for the hired henchmen, I just use them in later levels as walking targets for the enemies to shoot at - better them than me.

No problem, my friend. Chalk it up as being frustrated with the right-click trick. I just wish I would've waited a day then I wouldn't have had to screw around with what normally would've taken 20 minutes, instead of an hour or so with the lag. :)

No, sorry. You could try PMing the author to see if he will fix it, but it's such an old game (and not even sure if the author is still on this site) that they probably won't. But you can try.

Make sure that you have your files set to show Hidden Files, then go to start menu---> my computer (or just Computer),------->desktop----> system folder (with your computer user name; mine says Vladimir and under it System Folder)---> App Data file (it's normally a hidden file, so if you show hidden files it should be slightly faded than the other files)----> Roaming---->Macromedia ----> Flash Player -----> #Shared Objects------> random numbered/lettered file (something like S5OT8YOP for example; yours will be different)-----> scroll down to uploads.ungrounded.net and click. There you will see all the .sol files for Newgrounds games (unless you clear your cache and temporary internet files daily, then all your files will be gone). Find the number of your flash game, for yours it's 541051, and find the corresponding folder. They all end in 000, so look for 541000, click that one, find 541051 and delete.

That's a lot of work, so good luck.

Wouldn't deleting my browsers history, cookies, etc. result in the exact same thing? Also I'm having difficulty accessing it (my sister has A LOT of files and docs on her computer).

It would....IF you want to delete ALL of the save files from ALL of the games you've played since you went to NG. I made that mistake the other day.....

Also,not meaning to double post, but this is why I said earlier that I don't recommend trying to do it, because it takes a long time to find, and you could possibly mess something up by deleting the wrong file. I would either skip the medal or try playing the game over, unless you think you can find the.sol file, then keep going.
