I wouldn't call it awful. It has a nice atmosphere and some of the medals were actually kind of fun to get. The thing that annoyed me the most, was that I had to adjust the brightness of my computer. I never had to do that just for playing a game, and I don't see the point in making it so ridiculously dark. I didn't find golden tree 2 though, any help? It's in the part with the spikes me thinks?
The controls and collision detections were so bad, it destroyed most of the goodness the art had over me. You can literally duck through the sky bridge. I guess it's just the technical aspect of my personality speaking, but when the smoothness and aesthetics of the gameplay itself are filled with frustration, it's almost like a chore trying to enjoy the strong points of the game, namely the story and atmosphere.
The hunt for some of the medals was interesting, but a couple are marred with problems. Case in point? Golden tree 2. Hug the right side of the pit towards the minecart ride, but you'll never find it without doing something apparently unrelated. (Hint: Dillo Hills)
I have the balls to say that Stickya Adventurya did better in the aspects I complain most about. Well, not so much the chainsaw guys, but everything else was okay.
Well, the thing that helped me most in that game is to not focus on the boss at all (especially in phase 3). It IS the only harder phase, but still, finding the right flow in dodging will do the trick, the boss will die eventually. It took me an hour max to earn every medal in the game, simply by just keep to the dodging part.
What I lack in is top tier consistency. But I suppose it's the only way to go, especially since that's the strategy I adopted for phase 4.
Nothing to do but to keep trying I guess.

Yeah, I backed up and kept playing and got to the end... such as it is. Is there eventually an actual ending to the game, or do you just get the chance to catch up on any research you missed? Because hoping for a real ending is the only reason I kept playing; I don't really care about the medals, I'd invested a lot of time into the game and wanted a conclusion. If there's more to come at some point by random trigger, I'll pick it back up again.
Well, the story stuff ends when you take the day 121/123 log. You take a look at the objectives after that, and it says "well, this was stupid and pointless lol" (not verbatim obviously). IMO, the real good meat of the story ends after you get all the Alpha Tapes and Notes, and when the protagonist gets the Human Meat.
