I don't know, man. The only ones I have trouble with are destroy 5 (tips anyone?)
I must've burned through that mission at least fifty times getting only a silver, and just now got a gold, and to be honest, I have no idea what-so-ever as to why I was given it this time. I did experiment a little, though, so here's what I found out.
- Burning through at full speed ignoring all else drops you from a silver to a bronze. Kills count. Kill everything.
- If you kill all enemies, and then allow the spawn buildings to generate more for killing, you can drop right down to no medals at all. Time counts. Be quick.
- My best guess is that the only other factor is the number of hits on you. I started being more cautious on my later runs and took slightly more time, and I finally got the gold.
I recommend equipping the fastest legs, the auto-cannon, the hellfire (or the shield, if you don't feel confident dodging), and the cooldown reducer. You'll want a route that takes you through the buildings quickly and directly. I recommend, from the start, heading straight down. Take out the three buildings in front of you, and strafe a bit to the left as you go, hitting the one building that comes out pretty far from the left side. Then, just make a straight line to the bottom-left corner of the screen. Then just follow the edge of the screen counter-clockwise, taking out everything as you go. Be careful, there are a couple buildings in the the top-left corner that come out a bit towards the center, so get a feel for those ones. Once you're comfortable with the route, you should be able to move along with little backwards movement. Just keep running.
My biggest recommendation is to just keep doing it over and over and over, and sooner or later, if the monotony gods decide to smile upon you, you'll get the gold.
Hope that helps a little.
