I have a question towards the medals, and I assumed this would be the best place to ask.

1. How do you get medals approved?
2. Can achievements be added to older games?
3. Who thinks of the achievements?

I hope this achievement idea spreads like a bad rash on newgrounds, it was well though out.

I think that you need to PM PsychoGoldFish, since he's the one who deals with the medal system.

Sure. Take Alkie Kong 2 for example. That game was submitted in 2007 and it was the second game to get Medals, after Portal Defenders.

3. Who thinks of the achievements?

The creators of each game, I assume. They think about the achievement, PsychoGoldFish adds them to the games.

Currently I am setting up an actual page to create and submit medals for your games Right now I have to manually add them to the database, install the icons etc... it's a pain in the ass and wastes time I could be spending on more new features. Well if I knew anything about programming and other things you do I would volunteer to help, seems like with the new medal system you have been working on a lot of things lately.

Also when do you expect the medals collection to be finished?

Nevah mind that now. I ended up losing anyways, and then tried in a blind rage to quickly get the 24 pack again. I lost a life at stage 3 (which I've never done before) and nearly flipped out.

Then I realized that Alkie Kong is a game that you need to be calm and patient with. So I chilled out, and in a laid-back manner, cooly got the 24 pack on my first try.

Now all I have left are those damned "don't lose a life" medals...this is going to be one tough week!

ok i'm sick of this. level 4 on FU2...i've beat it on impossible and got an A+ on it. which means that i should have gotten the medal for getting the A+ and beating all the levels on impossible. but nothing happens and when i restart the game, it says i have a B on level 4 with moral by it. anybody have any suggestions?

really? that's what it does on slaughter for me. that game is just glitched differently for everybody i guess. i found a glitch on level 6 now too i'll take a screenshot next time i play it. after i kill him it just puts me standing there with blood pouring out of me. i can change weapons and activate helldrive but can't move.

As a personal opinion, I will only look or play the Fear Unlimited game once the glitches are all solved. Achievements/medals are fun, but not the end of the world if you don't get them. I really loved finding all the different ways in ending the game in "Deliver that fulp", just like some good non-linear games as Fallout 3 or Bioshock. You can alter the ending based on your actions, and that's what I really like in a game.

Damn. I need some tips on how to A+ on mission 5 in FU. The time limit and enemy count is no problem, but the style points are diffecult to get.

I did find a way to get loads of stylepoints from those green lizardis enemies, but unfortunatly the game glitches every time I do that trick. So anyone knows another way how to get a good deal of style points from those enemies (or from the double sword enemies)?

That's well known, Don't kill him in the left corner, and it took me 2 tries to figure out only hit him (to finish him off, in the middle of the screen) when his sword glows red, At no other time are you to hit him.

Just normal D+attack the lizzards into a corner, and right before you think they'll block, helldrive them. They block, you lose your combo which multiplies your style points.
What I meant by helldrive increasing your points is, if you've upgraded the Helldrive gives-more-damage magic stat (I did to max) it gives you a huge point bonus. I also got my double-swords up to level 25, max level for weapons.

Well PsychoGoldfish, I think, said a while back that there would be a collection for games with medals when the system was released to the public, so we won't need to post the games that have medals every page.

This is pretty cool, ive been wondering about the Medal system thing for a bit now.. and since i dont ever go look at forums im like kinda out of date on new material... neat medal system thing though/.

i believe the final update costs 1250 blood orbs. just play mission 1 over and over again. make sure you kill the enemies when you have the A++ because you get 55 orbs per kill that way. i just got it yesterday so it does take a while. but by that time you will an expert at the game and be able to get A+ on most missions...except if you have glitches like i do where the A+ medal doesn't unlock on levels 4 and 5 :(

Its a fun game, but for it to be considered to have medals the author would have to be asked to submit the whole game to Newgrounds. Seeing how the full version is only available on his website.

Cumulatively, I believe it's something like 106,000. Wylo posted the exact number somewhere, I think in this thread. The final upgrade is something like 12,000. All it takes is patience.

I managed to get the medal. My strategy did work, but you shouldn´t Down+D spam those lizards because that causes the game to freeze up. So instead I did hybrid mode and collected the points on those red, ordinary enemies. Buidling up to Absolutely Bloodthirsty and then using your shotgun and uzi´s, switching rapidly, works incredibly well to gain loads of style points. Thanks for the helldrive tip though, I didn´t know it would build up your points faster.

I think you should get a tiny bit of store credit for medals, nothing huge, maybee like $1 for every 500 points, or some rankings or something, or maybee unlockable content in games (such as, you need 500 medal points to see this secret) and I think there should be a flash component in the downloads section so they all have the same, nice aniamtion, and also a limit of the amount of points per medal and max medals per game, so people dont just make "free medal point" games or just use it to get themselves thousands of points.
