It took me two tries to get all of the medals. But it was fast and simple. I was doing perfect on every game until dragon boy. I can't bring myself to spend the time to get those last 2 medals. So, now I get to start over again. Communist in space is my new beginning.
I know I make one of these almost every page (Or at least for the past 4 or 5) but its only because the mods that I pm refuse to pm me back and ignore me. Maybe if I get banned for off topic posting, somebody will see it (or at least tell me who to contact about it, because obviously PG or TomFulp don't care enough to send me a 20 second message explaining it)
Why are the shift 4 medals still not fixed / removed / added to the list of medals that don't give you points?

You can get up to level 48 by setting up Hill Top level 4 in Hard mode so your dragon kills the dudes on their way in without your input, and then walking away from the computer for a couple hours. Just be sure to check in on it every so often to make sure you don't hit level 49, or you'll have to start all over again. I'm going to pick up those last two Dragon Boy medals myself this afternoon.

Why can't you hit level 49..? Just curious.

If your ad connection times out while you're away you won't get credit for the Merlin's Apprentice medal when you return to town (you get it at level 49 regardless of your spell point distribution), and then if you don't have a backup of your game data you have to start again and go from scratch. I mean, you could still reload the game and get the Dragon Master medal, but if you want those 50 points you'd have to do it all over again. I had it happen to me, but I'd backed up my game data at level 48, so it only took 10 Training Grounds 2 runs and a Shroom carnival to get it after I replaced the game data.
Incidentally, it turns out if you have the King's dragon backed up against the wall you can just stay an appropriate distance away (I was behind a building so I don't know what that distance is) and his flame won't hit you, and then you can just keep swinging. I lost both my mage and my dragon early and still took the King and his dragon both down without so much as eating a ham.
I'm only bragging a little.

O, how?
Because only nerds play games on newgrouuwnndssz :(
So did anybody try what I was talking about for Dragon Boy? leveling, not distributing the points and beating the game? Cause that's how I got my Merlin's Apprentice... just saying.

I just let my dragon and mage kill his dragon off screen while I chilled for a few minutes then went in to kill the king. Pretty simple strategy.

I did that in Normal. It's a shame the mage's offensive spells are so ineffectual in Hard mode.
Also, it looks like you can restart Hard mode after beating it, presumably at the same level as you were at when you beat it, so the warning about making sure you ding 49 before beating the game may be moot.

I'm gonna be honest, you all severely underestimate the mage.. She does 100 damage with the orb maxed compared to the dragons fire which is only 30 (although convenient for spread, most cases in Hard Mode you're encountering guys 1 on 1 and fighting each guy individually, so it's kind of ineffective) plus most people rarely get a chance, or know how to maneuver their dragon to claw at guys, still only doing 60 with a knock back and the mage does 50 with nova maxed which damages all surrounding enemies in the blast radius. You'll notice a significant amount of time saved when the mage stays alive, she might even be more effective than the dragon when maxed (save for when you get a guy caught between you and your dragon and you just knock him back and forth between each other).
That's just my personal opinion though.

The problem is that her spells are all significantly less effective in Hard mode than they are in Normal. Go to Stone Head with her and a maxed Mystic Orb, and it will take 30 Orbs to kill the hands. Now do it again, but this time draw one down and melee it; I took it down in 5 swings with mid-level magic gear. She's absolutely gold in Normal, the best weapon you have, but the monsters must inherit a resistance to magic in Hard or something because she loses all her offensive juice. At least, that's what I've observed.

That may be, I never really noticed it though. I just know that scorpions die twice as fast when she's alive than when it's just me and the dragon volleying the thing back and forth. Haha either way it doesn't matter because I'm done with it all, but I absolutely loved the game and it reminded me so much of Diablo II and I used to play that game a shitload when i was younger.

If you don't play games, you don't get medals, so they don't show up in your profile anyway...

I wonder what would happen if a game with medals didn't make it through the Under Judgment phase, but people got the medals.
Also, has anyone else noticed that Toss the Turtle has been on the front page for almost 3 months now? I know it's a good medal game, but seriously... other games deserve a chance too.

Well, it depends on whether the medals are directly linked to the game..(you know, if the game gets deleted, they get deleted too)...well, they probably are, so...

That's a good point. I feel as though once you get them, even if the game got deleted, you would still have them though. It would all depend on how Newgrounds set it up, but I doubt that they have it incorporated that when a game gets deleted, all it's medals are removed from our array of medals. They would have to specifically program that in I feel. But hey who knows. Haha
