sorry for the confusion. Everything will be fixed by tomorrow afternoon. I had work all day while the game was launched so I wasn't able to fix things right away.
I took out the quality option at the very last minute and forgot that I made an achievement based on it. whoops. :P stupid mistake
Why? Why would you remove the quality option? Just because your game is 16-bit like doesn't mean it won't slow down on shitty computers. It really bugs me when authors removes the quality option.
Anyway thanks for actually caring about your game and fixing it. I actually enjoyed it unlike most people, although allowing going back to a checkpoint after dying to the boss would be very nice considering the going back to the start is very annoying.
The author tells you why. It was just a last-minute issue.
I like that there's a challenge in this game. It will keep those less dedicated to winning medals from winning, but it really isn't too bad. There's no real "limit" to lives, and being rhythm-based, you should be able to know what will attack whenever. Yeah, the last boss is annoying, but if there was a checkpoint, then the game, which already gives you the ability to jump into one of three levels, doesn't force you to restart the whole game after completely dying, and even has little glitches you can use (such as the bat trick that some have already noticed), then I think that starting from the beginning isn't all that bad. It's tedious to run through the beginning, but you should have already timed everything enough to know when you'll be attacked.
