Well i finally completed NG tools. Its still in BETA and i want all you people to beta test it and tell what you think. Copy and past that into your adress bar because freewebs is a bitch. Its 2,250 lines of code so its my biggest project to date. Special thanks to Amish(--silverspeed--) and Magne(e-zoy) for thier help. Anyway. Enjoy and e-mail me if you want the source.

I would suggest getting a different free host if I were you. 8thsin.com has a good hosting plan, its all free. You can do a lot for yourself there.

All right from what I am seeing this is a kickass program, but it isn't working. I tried a username of mine and I changed all the stats, but it had no effect. Is there something I might have done wrong?

so you created an account from the main form and it didn't show your stats? Or did you login and it didn't update your stats after you tried to change them? A small thing about this program is that its not very bug proof. If you fuck around with it, it will not work properly. like if you say your lv is 2 but enter your exp as 1000 it will give you negitive numbers in the next level screen.
As for your problem. Mabey make sure that the exe and the images are all in the same folder. Also it creates a text file woth your stats which, if you move the exe won't work. Try creating your account again. Thaks for thinking this is awsome and i released this here so i could get rid of all these buggs and then and only then i hope to release this on the general forum for the rest of the NG users to play with.
Hmmm.....Well all the files are together, btw why are there two copys of the same folder with the program and the images? And I made sure that the numbers where correct, but it is just not doing it. I tried two names of mine. Is there I need to do to send the numbers and all that, or something?

A neat tool you've created there. The only thing I can think to add to it would be a voting power calculator. Other than that, I really like it a lot.
It would be really cool if someone could if someone could work with liljim to create a program like this that automatically gets the information from the database, updating it every time you login to the program. That way, you wouldn't have to change the stats everytime your want your information.

Thanks man. So it accualy worked for you, right. I was thinking of e-mailing LilJim for that but when i read the "Thread Thread"(search it up), i relized that they may not like running a third party script like that. im glad you liked it though. I can't wait to release it on the General Forum.

Yes, I read through the Thread Thread and I know exactly what you mean. I've heard the issue of running 3rd party scripts discussed before, but that topic is the granddaddy of them all in terms of debate. I was not aware that liljim was considering an expansion of the stats page, so I guess third party scripts might be obsolete with the stats coming straight from the source.

That would be easy enough to do, by parsing profile page HTML, which is basically what SK's and my programs did for the stats lists. It would mean a user would have to input their PID, but grabbing the stats from that would be easy. The problem is that Wade has called a halt to all programs that access the NG database, and since this is probably going to be fairly widely used when it's finished, it's not worth upsetting the NG admin by adding such a feature

Exactly, so thats why i choose to exclude those features. All you have to do is enter the lv.30 EXP and it will do the rest by itself. If your too lazy to do that then get off NG or do something! i'm so glad all these big name people are trying this out. What did you think of it Denvish?Or did you not try it?

Well, I spent a few minutes testing the program, and found a few bugs/spelling errors
Problems:
#1: created account, entered details
Denvish, 15, 6660, 25000, 9500, Dark
Then when try to log in, I get:
'An error occered in load you account information. Please create your account again and retry.'
(Spelling: should be: 'An error occurred whilst loading your account information. Please recreate your account and log in again.')
If I try to create the same account with 250 blams and 100 saves, it works OK... but then when I change stats (to 25000 blams and 9500 saves) while logged in, I get the same error
#2: My days to level 16 = -3.4.... how many weeks? -91.3287... that isn't right, I level up tomorrow.
Also, I'd recommend dropping the decimal places to 3
B/P page seems OK, though I would prefer to see rank names rather than 'BP levels'
Minor faults:

Other suggestions:
Create and use an icon for your main form. 256 colours and 16x16 is the format I generally use, using WinXP colours can cause problems.

ok Denvish. The first error problem is due too the fact that bptotal(the var) overflows when it adds your blam and protection points. I'll fix that now thought. I also fixed the spelling. I havn't got to the second error yet.
Ok i figured out the second error. When i wrote this i prewrote all the lv exp reqs and then later on wrote the function that adds and takes into effect the HT52 change. When the program loads it goes right to the pre-written ones so it gives you a negitive. I'll fix that too. I'll have to log off soon but please post anything else you found. Thanks

Update:
I fixed the following:
-B/P from. Made sure that it doesn't show negitive numbers
-exp form. Made extra checks to make sure that all of the required exp is in order.
-checked up on -Jacobs- problem.(I entered all the details that were in your profile. I tried everything and it worked wonderfully. I don't know what the problem with your version.)
Anyone else has anything because if not i'll recompile it and put it up for downloading on the general(with a much better(and faster) host i hope; i'm serching for one right now.)
You know to retrieve HumanTarget's Exp points would only require 1 hit on the NG server. Maybe you could have a script on a server that updates each day, then the program connects to your site to retrieve the info, so NG isn't even affected by how popular this program could get! ( I don't think it matters if NG has 1 extra profile view a day )
Hmm well i'll think about putting that in in the next version but not now. Other then that, what did you think about it?

Sure thanks. I respect the opinion of fellow programmers. At least you don't need the .net framework to run it. Thats the main turn off to me concerning VB.NET.
