The Boy Scouts is a private organization (like a club or team) run by people devoted to community service. There fore they can accept or deny members like a club (example: hockey team decides to cut a bad player) They do not ban any religion, as long as the person in the scouts is reverent toward a god/gods. As for homosexuals, that is only for homosexual adults, so that they dont do sexual things to the children. By being an athiest, or homosexual, they violate the scout's oath and law (Reverent, and "...Morally strait") If you hate an orgonization that is a valued and respected group in society, join the Hitler youth, or just ignore them. Eagle scout is an honor only given to the people who earn it out of devotion to themselves, the community, God and their country. If you dont want to be in the organization you should have told your parents in the first place. The purpose of every thing they do is to prepare the scout to be a good citizen. Flame me if you must, but it won't change my opinion of the Scouts.

Even though several posts here don't have a high opinion of Boy Scouts, It is true that those that have been sucessful in scouts are typically successful in life. More the rule than the exception.
I enjoyed my time as a Boy Scout and have done well by it.
Hey man, I completely agree with what you said. I was a Boy Scout until I made Eagle Scout and turned 18. I am now an Assistant Scoutmaster in my troop. I am thankful that someone is sticking up for the Boy Scouts. Anyone who doesn't agree with what they stand for can kiss my fat ass.

hmmm i was in boy scoutz for a while til i started smoking pot and playing football and baseball. it wasnt that bad and game me something contstructive to do and the little race car races were pretty kewl and i came in 1st place in all the races. Uhhhh yah i guess.
