RC sends an email to all us regulars saying 'vote on these ppl' we get a choice of about 9-15 i'd say, and we get to vote for 3.
then he gives us the list of regulars underneath that where we can vote ppl OUT if we think they dont post or what have you.
Ya, that is the way i understood it. So everything seems to be clear in my eyes.

Heh, well, a close race is always fun. Doesn't matter who is racing, but this next election will be interesting, because I'm including TheJoe324 in it as well. I clarified the rules, and he is now eligible. We'll see what happens. I do think that EK will get in, but I'm just not sure...

Heh, the simpathy vote is always good, but it just doesn't compare to actually doing what is required to get in. You have been helping out, and that's really nice of you, so maybe you'll get lucky. At least you'll be able to see how many votes you get when I post the results on Feb 1st. Good luck MW ^_^

*whew* I'm glad that I don't have to clarify anymore. I've been doing that since the beginning of this thread. Starts to get old after a while, but if I keep on clarifing the rules, then I guess I need to keep everyone updated.
Glad I have some intelligent people helping me explain this thread to other people.

Here's my optimistic prediction:
-TheJoe324
-Jonthomson if he's included
-Alkador
-SeeD
-Myst_Williams
-Tom
-Gfoxclock
-LevelUpLounger
-Dave
-the guy that was kicked once
-anyone else that did browse this forum
-anyone else that didn't even browse this forum
-anyone else that doesn't even know that NG exists
-EK dude will be last with 0 vote.
No need to discuss about it.

Well, i was reading back on some old poasts. And you lost be one tie breaking vote. You both had 9, really, so who says that their opnion has changed over only a month, right? As much as iwould like to say that i will get in, i have only been here for two weeks, so some of the guys might not even know who i am. Optimistically i am looking for a third finish, unless 'TheJoe' (right?) gets more votes, but i have never seen him post and don't know who he is.

Yup, I was kicked. I was actually one of the original regulars, I seem to remember, (check it out, back on page 4 of this very thread) but I had to stop coming to NG because my other life (to keep all those silly people who say "BUT TEH INTERWEB IS REEL" happy) was more important to me. I also stopped checking my gmail, as it was just full of spam, and I forgot that Red was gonna be sending emails to me about voting. Therefore, I was kicked. BUT now I'm back with a vengeance, and if I do get back on, I'll give Red a proper email addy so it won't happen again (end grovel)

Oh, well that sucks to be kicked off, but sometimes other things come first. Well now that i know you've already been on, that makes me think you have a better chance on making it back on, but i don't know how active you were back then, because i wasn't around.
But anyway, nice to have you back.

Actually, when the whole 'Voted out' thing was implemented, I suggested that the people voted out should not need to be re-elected if they decided to return - kind of like reserves in a soccer team. The fact that a user has been a Regular in the past, and has therefore proved him/herself to be of worth in Wi/Ht, should be enough. I don't know how the other Regulars would feel about it, but I'd be more than happy to see you back on the list, as well as the next elected Regular (even though I don't know you very well, since you were mostly active during my 9 month AWOL period)

Bob, I do appreciate your input, but I think I'm going to stick to my guns on this one as well. Here is my reasoning. First off, I would agree that --delteated-- is a great guy, but none of the members, as well as I, know if he is going to stick around longer than a few days. I mean absolutely no disrespect delteated, for this is a general observation, and could pertain to anyone. Unfortunately, there hasn't been anyone else taken off of the list, so as of right now, it sadly only applies to you.
With that in mind, I will state the rule again. If a Regular is voted out, and subsequently taken off of the list, they must start over fresh, and be voted BACK into the list like everyone else. It's only fair, simply because nobody really knows if the person in question is actually coming back, or if they are just going to make a few posts, then leave again. They MUST prove their regularity again, just like from the beginning.
Thanks for the support, but I'm not expecting any special favours. If I have to be re-elected, I'll wait my turn...
Thanks for understanding. I do hope you make it back on the list due to your coming back. I hope that you figure out a way to stay active on NG with us, without sacrificing your real life agenda, as well as your social life. There has to be a balance somewhere in everything that you do. Be a jack-of-all-trades in life. It's the best way to deal with everything.
Failure isn't what you did wrong, it's not realizing what you did wrong.

It will be different on the next update. It might be a voting tiebreaker or something else. Red knows how it will work.

Wow, the list wouldn't be special anymore. It could become much bigger than it is supposed to be. Then if people that were once in the list can easily get in, why can't people that aren't browsing the forum anymore can't be temporarily removed without a vote? Wouldn't it be a fair treatment?
The fact that a user has been a Regular in the past, and has therefore proved him/herself to be of worth in Wi/Ht, should be enough.
It doesn't prove that he can a regular in the future. It makes the kick voting process pointless and it could change the purpose of the list. I really don't like this idea.
but I'd be more than happy to see you back on the list, as well as the next elected Regular (even though I don't know you very well, since you were mostly active during my 9 month AWOL period)
I think that he should EARN it AGAIN. That's how it should be :)
He wasn't that active in the past. The people that decided who should be included in first list before the voting existed probably chose him because he was more active than usual exactly when the list was created.
At 1/15/05 08:31 AM, HK47 wrote: Unfortunately, there hasn't been anyone else taken off of the list, so as of right now, it sadly only applies to you.
The kick voting wasn't very efficient. Like I said in the past, the regulars are like eachother and they prefer not to vote someone out.
They MUST prove their regularity again, just like from the beginning.

I agree with you o nthis one. If they failed to be a 'regular' then they are out. The whole point of the list is to be a regular.

Woah woah woah. I agree that I was away and I should have to be re-elected just like the new regs, but I really beg to differ that I wasn't that active in the past. From my signup until sometime in November I posted in Wi/Ht pretty much every day. My PPD was up around Bonus's level (not that it's necessarily something to be that proud of) - how else would it still be around 8 point something when I haven't been here for 2 months??? I'm not getting any special treatment over you, so why don't you just drop it and the election can be based on our current performances. Hell, I might not even get nominated - nominations go out in about a week's time as far as I can remember and I might not have done enough by then to make it on the list!!!

I wasn't around here when you were. I only really started posting seriously in september, so i just missed you. I guess that I missed your posts or something. I simply type what I remember. What I remember isn't necessarily the truth.
My PPD was up around Bonus's level (not that it's necessarily something to be that proud of) - how else would it still be around 8 point something when I haven't been here for 2 months???
Posts per day doesn't mean much.
There are many sections on the BBS, people don't necessarily choose a person that posts a lot, some people prefer long quoting posts to multiple posts, etc.
What I mean is that:
I need to check the content and where you did your posts to know how active/helpful you were. I didn't check it yet and I don't plan to do it unless someone obliges me.
I'm not getting any special treatment over you, so why don't you just drop it and the election can be based on our current performances.
You assume too much. I never typed that you were getting a special treatment. It's simply an idea coming from Denvish. I responded while saying that it would be a bad idea because it kills the purpose of the voting process or the list itself. Nobody said that it is happening. An idea != current process. That idea obviously concerns everyone that would be removed from that list, not just you even though you are the only one that tasted the removing action yet.
Bring it on. I'm ready for some hawt voting challenge.
I might not even get nominated
You are nominated for sure. No need to argue on that one.
You two are taking this way too seriously. You both are ignorant to each others past actions on NG and you both are making unnessecary(spell?) accustaion and remarks. So why take it any further. He claims he was active and that should be good enough, who cares if he was active. The point is, is he now? And obviously so.
I don't want to get in the middle of this, but i think it'd be best for both of you to just drop it. Otherwise, someone is going to make an ass out of themselves.
So be cool, be happy. Just relax.

I don't really consider it a phase, considering I'm always like that. It's because I'm never really sure when someone is kidding or not.
