I've been playing this game for a while, but I just recently registered on newgrounds. I remember the first time I saw this game was when some 10-year-old kid at the library was on a different website (I won't mention it cuz I think that gets me kicked off). From that site, I went to the author's site, and in turn found newgrounds. ::sniff, sniff::: The memories!
Ok, seriously though, how many games are there that even come close to matching this quality? The animation is unparalleled, the graphics are fuckin twisted but well made. The sounds and music all fit together, the A.I. is on target, the hit detection is great, the bosses follow the true video game tradition of not-too-easy-but-not-too-hard-once-you-figure-out-the-patte rn, the propoganda against typical media cliches run rampant throughout, fuck man the list goes on.
Really the only bad thing about this game is that it's over waaaaayyy before it should be. How many people out there with itchy trigger fingers wanna bust down the KGB already? I know I do!! If more games shot for this standard, there'd be a lot less crap to have to sift through.
