Well first when I saw this submission here, I was glad you added another submission and even more glad for it being so high. I watched it, and I really feel it had an incredible appeal to me personally. I have a lot of ideas and opinions about gender relations and the misunderstanding and constant growth of depression with Men in the western world. What wasn't looked into with the inevitable (and moral) push for feminism since the 60's was the great change it would force into the idea of a man since then. What makes a man good, or even just successful in ways of business, family life, and as a husband has become blurred.
Your flash really hit this idea well. Your character's life is so depressing and staggeringly similar to what I think many young men today have, it makes me reflect on my own relationship with my job and women. Right from the start I had a feeling the end would come out as suicide, but each time as he was with a girl, it made me think "maybe things will work out", then when she took his money I'd know better. I have a bad relationship with women in terms of intellect and reason, because it just seems like women today don't fucking have any. I have yet to find a girl that doesn't think only for herself, doesn't act completely insane about little things that don't matter, (like not being allowed to touching her breast even after you've had sex with her, which has actually happened in my life) and doesn't think she's better than me and deserving of special treatment ONLY because she is female. I used to be quite a chauvinistic and treated girls and women like they used to want us to, and opened doors and payed for dinner, and the whole nine yards of treatment. But now women refuse to allow us to treat them like that, but still they demand this other special treatment where they are still the holders of the sexual key, and being sexually conquestive as a male is suddenly wrong or offensive, and their bodies are supposedly magical and generally more important than us or ours, and what we feel, what we think, and our opinions never matter to them. I know it's generally the idea that men always have to submit to the female in any disagreement and have to do anything she asks, which is like what female treatment used to be in the chauvinistic age, but we're told that those ideas are wrong now, but they still require certain treatments that make them better than us.
I think I got a lot off topic lol. I'm not militant in any way with these ideas, I just believe truely that we have an epidemic of depression with men today, and according to a big study that was published in Newsweek, I'm not the only one who thinks so. And the biggest problem is that as men we aren't "allowed" to show or express that we are depressed, so it leads to acting out towards others or to ourselves, leading to suicide like your Flash. And in many cases the women of our lives are causing so much of this depression, and they would never even find out about their man's life or feelings to know about it, or realize that they are causing it. We have such a sexist judicial system, and when a man is told shes "on birth control" and is assured shes not going to get pregnant and she TELLS him not to use a condom, then she gets pregnant and now he has to live in a horribly poor state his whole life to pay for the child which he can never even see because she has a restraining order on him because he's a man, no matter how crazy of a bitch SHE is and how much better he is with children. But he cant touch the child because he's a man and shes a woman, and the courts give the child's custody to her because of that. Happened to my uncle and a friend's uncle. A woman with legal insanity who had been committed tree times and was violent was given custody of three kids, which she only wanted to write it in her taxes or something. Yeah, thats fair.
Umm sorry thats a lot. What i mean is your flash is amazing and relates to what I and many other's think about men in society. Great job, make more and I'll love it.
