"I have become comfortably numb"
I watched this one last night and Ive been thinking about it since. I had to sleep on it and think a little bit. Not many flash movies make me do that. I'd like to start by quoting an excellent book I've read called 'As a Man Thinketh' by James Allen, 1902.
"Mind is the Master power that moulds and makes,
And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes
The tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills,
Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills:-
He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass:
Environment is but his looking-glass. "
Basicly man is the master of his own destiny. When he has a positive attitude, he will become proactive and postive things will happen to him. When man has a negitive attitude, negitive things are in the forefront of his mind, and therefore his actions become negitive.
Jerrys poor choices are a good example of this principle. His getting a DUI, continuing to date women who have robbed him, continuting a monotonous life that he is displeased with and making no effort to change his situation.
All in all, this is an excellent satire on life in general. How many feel trapped by thier own existance. 'spolier' - This is not an excuse for taking your own life as Jerry did. Jerry was in control of his own life, and he took "the easy way out" rather than take responsibility for himself.
This is an excellent flash movie by a great flash artist (he did maxwells sliver hammer).
