Reviews for "Blockhead: Episode 9"

Looks good

It looks better but I would have loved it just the same with the old gfx. I cant quite put my finger on it but the guy in Blockhead's head (weird sentence) seemed more angry and less sarcastic. The expression on his face didn't seem familiar, I think I have just watched the old ones so many times that I have gotton used to it.
Well other than that I still enjoy the series a lot and hope for another episode.

The-Swain responds:

Hey, believe me, I gave figurative birth to these characters and it's tough to see them change. The "new" conscience isn't better or worse, in my opinion. I just felt that he needed to be more active, and I couldn't animate the old one because my style has changed so drastically in two years. Thus, I had to update him to a more fitting style. I tried not to change him too much - you'll notice that the body is almost identical, and the same ol' camera angle on his chair is used often.

(And it's no worse than his Time Cop counterpart in Time Squad, I think!)

dude

you never EVER cease to amaze me with your blockhead videos, one after one they continue to make me laugh histerically, you are #1 on my favorite authors and i have waited for what seems like an eternity for this new episode and was highly pleased

the part about the video was just amazing, i love your sense of humor...
and the stopsign thing, props on that... very blockhead-esque

if i could give a higher score in humor i would. you are a very fine author and i look forward to many other blockheads to come and can't wait to see what your racist vampires looks like. also, just to note on this, i like what you did with the new animation, not so much the art, the old art was better in my opinion, but this seems to be way better animated, you have his hair move and everything and he is almost no longer a 2D figure on a 2D space, you make him seem to pop out and move in circles which he used to not do much.

i can't wait to see your next submission.

-Tony

The-Swain responds:

I was hoping someone would notice the hair; that little detail cost me many hours on its own :D

And so long as people know I didn't update the graphics to make them "better", but to sync the old graphics with a style that I can animate now, then I'm happy. It was just time.

And Racist Vampires will be almost as lighthearted as Blockhead, but certainly darker. And it won't *actually* be racist, in case you or anyone else was wondering - I am in keeping with the principle that I'll only make cartoons that I would let my mother watch.

Thanks for the thoughtful review!

Still great.

Loved all your movies and you've really up'd the production qualities... or something. I like.

You changed his nose! D:

It looks weird. o-o

But yay, Blockhead! :D

Great series

This show makes me very happy... watched the entire series after this one, very nice. Is there a reason his name is blockhead? just throwing it out there. Thanks for the series. Make more :P
