Excellent,
The whole game has a very polished feel to it, each battle has a (silly) justification and background and it makes you feel you know the character's back-story (even if you don't). The fighting itself was varied, dynamic and everything flowed well with none of the repetiveness or jerkiness of many other fighters.
There are no levels that are far too hard, the 1v3 convict was surprising, but I reckon it gives you a goal in the game beyond collecting gold (it is possible to do the challenge 3v1 pretty easy).
If you want to beat the convict last level:
- Get up against the wall so you can't be flanked.
- If you're in a spot, either jump, use the crouch attack or both to get out of it.
- Use air juggling as much as possible, that way you do lots of damage and cant really be interfered with by other characters. (especially good as P-bot).
- If you are being juggled, mash the block button in the hope of deflecting.
Overall an excellent fighting game, probably the best I've seen. You may be able to make it bigger (more charchters, larger level), though this may make it unwieldy or confusing (and big levels can be boring). You could also have more modes, tag team, capture the flag, racing?
Basically try to make it even more like the Bash Brother you think it is a ripoff of. Hell why not, it free for me.
