This was a great fighting game no doubt about it. Great graphics, it ran great with no lag or glitches I could find. It was good, but it got dull after awhile and I stopped playing. Maybe you should add hidden charecters or a goal to set so that people have something to look forward to. It was good, but not as good as it could have been. Still you get an 8.
Review:
Great graphics, great smooth animation. There is a great deal of content and definately a lot of depth to the game, the scripted camera for the fight scenes was excellent. So... surely a game of this nature would easily make it to the top of it's genre, when the vast majority of aspects have been perfected above all other fighters on this site? Well.. tbh I couldn't really say that's the case.
It simply falls below its competitor's in how the gameplay actually turned out. With the shield, the combos, the plan was all there, but it just doesn't work. There's not enough focus on what your actually doing than just smacking the buttons which will usually result in you over-powering your enemy. That's not to say you don't have to move around appropriately and block at the right times, but there's not enough intellectual challene when it comes to combat.
Thus, as a result, it doesn't beat all other games in it's genre in terms of the actual fun factor, the XIAO game for example had a much more tactical approach when fighting.
This isn't to say the game isn't a great piece of work ofcourse, and is undeniably something to be proud of.
Great game with a few flaws
Amazing game i'd have to say. One of the problems I incountered was that Samurai Asshole's aerial attacks could be stacked upon eachother tons of times(even enough to kill you within one combo). Also I thought that last battle with convict was impossible. Now, this is what I think should be added in the sequal(if one ever gets made)
-Special bar for each characters "special move"(Goes up if you can successfully get a 10 hit combo in, decreases if moves are blocked)
- Character creation(New models, story characters to mix/match/change colors, and new moves)
- Online Arenas(Team Deathmatch, DeathMatch)
- Special mini modes between each story, secret levels(Unlocked by doing certain things in levels)
- Bigger Maps, More maps, Map Creation(would be SO awesome)
- More powerups during levels(X1.5 more damage for certain time, slow-mo(not in online) etc)
Basically if all that was added it would be the BEST game on newgrounds.
