Truely your best work yet
Fight scenes were incredible as well as the custom sprites. I hope to see even better (i know that sounds impossible) work from you in the future. Good luck ;).
Sheer Excellence *Spoliers*
God Where to begin. *Spoliers*
Graphics - You've outdone anything i've seen with sprites, not only did you use normal sprites very well, you've seemlessly incorporated them with additional special effects (e.g. green/black Axem Combo). Which left me drooling. THEN you broke the 2d barrier and gave it a VERY believable and adrenaline-pumping 3d sequence (sonic running up the mountain comes to mind)
Special moves animations were awesome, Beams of death, Ironman's Mega Cannon (Marvel v Capcom XD), Death Ball, Fireballmeha, everything very, very nice.
(Yay for Metal Gear solid explosion effects)
Style - This is the winner, I'll try to be brief as I'll use up my word limit, the action was imaginative and NON-REPTITIVE, which we all know is a very hard thing to do when it comes to Dragon Ball Z.
The fight really did feel like a free for all when you were watching it, but not to the detriment of it being too hard to follow.
Further with the fight scenes, some of them had such a good dramatic feel to them (e.g. Mario/Luigi running from the death-slicer-of-green-black-ax em-doomness) which acted as a sort of climax every now and then to make sure you weren't falling asleep.
Cameos, loved the "It's over 9000" little spoof, didn't break the flow of the fight and feel of the scene and was well placed. (Personal Opinion, try to limit cameos to DBZ, Mario and Sonic as that's what SMBZ is a take-off of)
The story-line, to be honest I was a little worried that it would be cluttered at the end of episode 5, I'm sorry I ever lost faith, the story progressed better then I could have hoped. Free for all was brought to a standstill by Mecha Sonic and the fight instantly changed to a sort of goodies V ultimate baddie very smoothly.
Once again, probably your best strength is your style, don't lose it.
Sound - As there was 20 minutes-something of music to kill, the music progressed very nicely, the tracks you selected really suit the mood and build up to the climax of the episode. (Btw, did I hear Devil May Cry fight music? More plz =) )
The voice incorporation of Mecha Sonic was a bit weird with me at first, but it worked in the end, keep on doing it. =)
Violence - It's DBZ, it's true to DBZ, it deserves a 10, keep the fight scenes like that every episode, you'll make me very happy.
Interactivity - Buttons all worked fine as far as I could see.
Humor - Cameo's worked well, Luigi didn't feel repetitive (unlike a certain bald monk) Sonic and Shadow work very well together. You've got a good script. Keep it up.
Overall - This is the most deserving submission i've seen to get a 10/10, everything else gets a 9 now.
You're a great artist, scripter and flash designer Alvin, if you're not making money from your skills, start now.
Cheers, i'll be awaiting episode 7.
Luke,
P.S. If you actually want to answer all my questions, ask me for my email and i'll give you a message. Cheers.
Too Awesome!
I don't know why Captain Zero Rater vvv reviewed it badly because it wasn't in his or her favorite type of movie? WTF? Just because it's not the type of flash you like doesn't mean that it is bad! You don't review something badly because it's not your thing! You just carry on with your life!
OVER 9000!
this is one of the best ones in the series i say. but i would like to know what the name is of the first battle song. u know, the one that plays after wario and waluigi freak out and X-plosions are going around the island? that would be so great.
