Reviews for "Endless Zombie Rampage"

Just like Crimson Land

I like this game a lot but I do think it could use some improvements.

1. Decrease the power of the Desert Eagle. I got the Desert Eagle and the Overkill ability and the game was over. I could easily get 10000 EXP in one round pretty early on in the game.

2. Add more weapons and skills. How about some rocket launchers? Flame Throwers?

3. Find a way to make it easier to see the zombies amidst the blood and gore strewn surroundings.

This game is a lot like one of my favorite games of all time, Crimson Land. I hope you will work to improve it some, I'll keep an eye out just in case.

amazing

this is a good game ill ive you that but there has been an abundance of defence zombie games, you have the perfect engine for a good zombie game, one in a city where you move around and dont have to protect some little base, make this into a city game. also the bodies on the floor make it hard to see any zombies after the first few levels..

otherwise its amazing

~D~

A winner

I thought I'd write something praising this game, as I think it deserves more of a review than "this is teh good...kiked a$$". The game designer has gone further than what is required for the standard zombie defence game-of which there are many. I've broken my review down into several different sections, each one indicating the games strengths or weaknesses.

The first impression:this would have been the title screen, I thought it was well laid out, with a text style reflecting what you were about to witness....zombie massacre on an insane level.

The idea:Okay, nothing new, but old habits die hard, and I will never get bored of zombie defence games, especially when they're this good.

The graphics: clear, detailed and precise, all that was needed.

The base itself:At first I thought you would be confined to the actual base as is normal in defence games. But on this occassion, the base was at the far North of the screen, and your character was free to roam around the battlefield blasting and blasting. Also, you have 2 health bars so to speak, yourself, and your base. I noticed that half seem to go for you and half for the base you are protecting, but it was the base which I was concerned about as it couldn't move, and I could.

Income:I felt the income was appropriate for the weapons required...WHEN they were required, not too much or too little.

The guns/power-ups:WOW, what to say. Many defence games just give you the option of several basic weapons, but this game goes all technical with regards to firepower. You are given the vital details of each weapon before buying (reload rate/clip size/rate of fire etc..), which is invaluable when choosing the right weapon with regards with value for money. I went straight for the rapid fire weapons asap, and wasn't let down by how much they kicked ass on the field. I actually stopped playing once I stumbled across the chain gun, as there was nothing it couldn't cut down in afew shots. It was just too easy with that baby in my hands.

Realism:This was amazing. Things like;zombies being blown back by shots, each shot spraying the ground with a unique blood splatter, the screen shaking with each shot, the zombies and discharged rounds staying on the battlefield where they fell...which in time resembled an interesting zombie/bullet pizza, not to mention limbs flying off on moment of death (re-death even)

Enemies: Started small, and got either bigger, uglier, faster or all 3. The enemies were different enough in design, so you could identify who needed an ass kicking more, or who to put more shots into. No, I don't think I've seen all 22, 23? yet, but I'll explain why in a moment.

The plateau:Ah, this is something relevant to many games of this genre, some more than others. Heres what I'm on about: You get to a certain stage in these games, when you have the most powerful gun, and can cut down any enemy quickly. You sit there level after level blasting away, enjoying yourself less and less as nothing has changed in the last 20 minutes with regards to game action. Its a case of "what the hell, I'll sit here and blast all these bad guys away to see of anything new happens in the next level" Basically playing for the sake of it. Once you have maxed out, it is hard to keep interested in the game when you cannot better yourself anymore, or don't need to as nothing is a challenge due to having an extemely powerful weapon. I saved my game and will return to it later...enough massacaring already.

So all in all, this game is a winner. It is clear alot of effort and work has gone into it, to make it as cool as possible. I have almost nothing bad to say about it, apart from the plateau paragraph, which is NOT unique to this game, but a flaw that flows through many of these defence games.

To the desginer: I would say keep making games like these. I have seen countless defence games, countless zombie defence games, but it is the winners I will always return to.

Would type more but I'm about to run out of characters

Hope this review has been helpful, GOODNIGHT!!!!

4.5 because I never really understood how the zombies get stronger and come in waves
if a real z a happened, they would almost always be the same.

Godlike?

TLDR? Great game, needs some slight improvements.

Someone said that the game is about stress relief and I'd have to agree, seeing as it becomes glaringly apparent that the character isn't even mortal after about the tenth round.

At first the game was mediocre/hard in difficulty, with lots of emphasis on decision-making between rounds, choosing when to save and when to buy, which weapon to buy and whether or not to bother with upgrades. There were some weapons that were absolutely worthless because of other weapons sold for the same price offering equal and better stats.

The problems come in once the player gets weapons like the Desert Eagle (30 rounds? How large is the handle on that thing?) and the 999 shot machine gun, as well as the ridiculous shotguns. At that point the game loses all difficulty, seeing as even if the government were to decide to nuke the general area, the character would, in all likelihood, survive anyway with his monstrous 10k+ health.

There are also a couple flaws in the game, such as zombies not being able to attack you at all. I decided at one point to test my godhood only to find that the zombies weren't even landing attacks half the time.

Suggestions for future games would be to include some sort of boss battle, a better scaling on the difficulty and more variety with the zombies (not just continual recolors).

Finally, to compare with Last Stand, the games are in my opinion on equal footing. Each brings something unique to the table and neither was more fun to play or had more replay value.
