AAAIIIIEEEE!!!!
ZOMBIES!!!!
One of THE most fun zombie games EVER. This is how survival horror is done right.
The zombies themselves were absolutely fantastic (the "Dawn of the Dead" remake ones were the most fun to kill, especially when you get their legs or head, mid-run... zowie!). Variety, complexity, and comedy (fat zombies a-runnin'!) are all essential and you nailed all three.
The NPCs were very cool. Not too often can you actually go out and FIND buddies who are actually useful, they helped out a lot.
The weapon choice was mighty fun (almighty CHAINSAWS buddy!), but a little redundant, and a couple weren't even necessary to take down the really tough guys (honestly, TWO submachine guns?). Maybe the order being switched up would've pumped the sense of urgency.
The aiming issue; while I did have a couple scrapes, I never found myself in a dire emergency. However, I got into most of those simply cuz the gun didn't wanna shoot where I aimed it. I figured out the whole line-of-sight thingie, but didn't really like it. Also, to hit enemies at the top and bottom, I often had to walk around my NPCs, who seemed kinda in-the-way at the point.
Clean up the shooting/movement in the sequel, up the difficulty a little, and flesh out the story a little more (a little dialogue couldn't hurt), and you've got yerself a hit... uh-oh... here they come again! Gotta go!
