Awesome game, looking forward to a sequel!
Loved the game. Nice, short, simple and doesn't use ridiculous amounts of system resources to play on High setting. Enjoyed the bits of story via the Diary and the different weapons present. Some criticism:
- Some of the weapons were useless. Case in point: the sawed off shotgun. It packs a punch and has great spread, but the reload time combined with only two chambered rounds makes it obsolete very quickly.
- Some weapons are too "samey". Is there a real difference between the last two assault weapons you find?
- Some weapons are too overpowered. No, not the sniper rifle you find at the end but the Chainsaw. Since zombies are stunned on hit, the Chainsam having a large "capacity" and fast firing rate it's rather broken. Once found it takes little skill to coast through the rest of the game.
-The only real "bug" that I found was that sometimes, when you are the only one at camp (no other surivors) and you search for 12 hours the results would show up as "-1 Survivors". No big deal but it's weird and a bit exploitable that you can't die during the day.
I really hope you do the sequel and go even further! I would like to see some more story (some background on why the zombies are here and attacking). I hope you keep the same main character. Maybe the military that picks him up recognizes his skill and drafts him to help fight the zombies. Regarding the actual game portion of the sequel I am torn. Personally I'd love to see a more involved "defense" game where you can, on top of what you have now, upgrade your skills, the skills of the survivors you find and your "barricade". However I'm just a fan who wants "more of the same"...
Good luck and I'm looking forward to more of your work!a
