Fairly Good Game Though. Thanks!

Disappointment
After getting the shotgun or another semiautomatic weapon the game became to easy and it was totally pointless, furthermore it lacked concept you would think that after a while the zombies would get a little bit smarter or faster at least to give more of a challenage but there was none. So all in all i give this game a six.
I remember playing this game several years ago, and having a blast doing it. I don't recall beating it-if I did, then I must have had a very lucky run.
I like the concept of this game in particular, even in the bare-bones form that it's in. You don't find many games about a zombie apocalypse in which you have to take into account searching for assistance, weaponry, repairs, and other factors. Usually, games focus on the mindless slaughter of the zombie horde, which is an in bulk kind of fun which doesn't really stick in the brain unless you constantly subject yourself to it.
Saying this, though, the game is quite flawed, I find. Starting out, I had to restart several times because I was unable to get past the third night due to the fact that the pistol you start out with is piss weak and stops becoming useful extremely quickly. It was absolutely necessary to either A: Obtain another weapon, or B: Find another survivor. On my third try, I managed to acquire B, and was able to continue.
On acquiring weapons, however, I have to say that it was a poor decision to make getting weapons based upon a bar you fill instead of a dice roll kind of system that finding survivors appears to be based upon. It's a poor decision for the reason I stated above, and because it eliminates any sort of hopefulness or sense of a lucky break to the player, both of which incidentally (if you want to break the fourth wall a bit) a person enduring the zombie apocalypse would be undergoing in the search for weapons. This way, it just becomes another annoying bar to fill among the innumerable horde gamers have had to fill over their lives, and it's especially annoying when it becomes a source of unfair death. At least with the dice roll system, you have always have a chance. The bar system works against you until you fill it the first time, which can result in frustration as it did with me.
On the assistants, though, they stop being useful in combat around I'd say the 6-8th wave or so, and they only become useful in helping to repair your barricade. Their pistols are even worse than the starting pistol, and there was no way to give them spare weapons. They ended up only killing the occasional thin zombie while I mowed down everything else.
About the combat itself, I have this to say:
1. There are several weapons that break the game up until the final waves.
2. The cursor doesn't seem to aim properly.
The first: the Hunting Rifle, Chainsaw, and any automatic weapon in any combination destroyed any kind of difficulty up until wave 17, at which point the Hunting Rifle and Chainsaw combo is the only one that still does that up until waves 19 and 20. There's simply no challenge whatsoever, and there needs to be challenge if combat is going to be largely the same with only minor enemy upgrades.
The second: while I was playing, it didn't seem like the location of my cursor did much to determine where my bullet was going to end up. I'd find myself pointing at a zombie's head, only to have it zip by and hit another zombie in the leg. I noticed this particularly with the Hunting Rifle, when enemies would drop from the separate corner of which I was aiming.
Finally, bugs. Big ones, as well. Perhaps I was just unlucky, but I encountered three different bugs, one of which was permanent and made me unable to finish the game in its entirety.
The first one only happened once that I noticed, but it could have easily have happened more than once with all the bullets flying: my shots passed through an enemy. Directly through it, and this happened at a critical moment when my barricade was down. There was one zombie left, and all I had to do was fire one last shot and kill it. I fired, and the bullet went straight through the zombie and passed harmlessly.
Bug number two happened once: I died, and when I retried, I was a corpse and unable to shoot. I could move, but couldn't defend myself.
Bug number three broke the game: I was rendered unable to fire completely. I died, restarted, and couldn't fire. I would die two more times hoping I'd be able to fire again, but no.
One of my favorite games on Newgrounds. Sadly, bugs, glitchy moments, and not-so-great music and sounds bring it down a notch.
so bloody dificult average animation sounds arent too bad
