THIS... Freaking... ROCKS!
If Jimi Hendrix' Ghost burst from the ground holding a guitar and launched straight into the Star Spangled Banner + Purple Haze combo just like freakin' Woodstock, man, this could not rock harder.
Just some suggestions, though:
Make a "Daytime Searching" minigame instead of randomly determining how many people die. That just kinda sucks.
Make it more interactive: Choose who gets what weapon, give everybody names and give them stats with weapons: (IE: Cletus coulden't shoot a pistol or an automatic to save his own life, but if you give him a shotgun or so help me a hunting rifle he'll shoot down zombies all day, whereas Mack from the city isen't the best shot, but if you give him an automatic he can put down good covering fire because he reloads fast, and so forth.)
Make characters you "nurture" last longer, and thus, get more skilled.
Make it clear that there's a final weapon. I didn't realize the Barret Light Fifty was in this game until like, night 17 or so. I searched all the last nights, and finally got to use it on night 20. I didn't notice it wasen't there because my find-o-meter had stopped on 0 after I got the AK-47.
Make it so you can spend daylight hours putting down traps - IE, snares, beartraps, spikes, pits, etcetera. Anything to slow the zombies down and give us an edge - putting wooden stakes in the ground would at least slow them a bit. Make it explosive mines on the high end. :)
Lastly, the Barret light .50 should go through body armor. I don't care what kind of body armor it is - the Barret was made to go through armored vehicles.
