9/10 Simply one of the flash best games out there.
The Last Stand is a flash game, created by Con-Artists productions, a newly formed flash-gaming producing facility in the works. This is his first release.
Story: Last Stand ia a survivor/horror/zombie game in which you play as a nameless hero who is one of the surviving people from the zombie epedimic. You have to survive many nights (20) and enough time to hold your own. You are pitted with hordes of zombies, tharshing at your barricades and ready to make you as their own.
Of course, you're equipped with firearms packing to take down the undead.
Not only the extreme fun of this simple arcade-feeling type of game, there's some additional features as well. After you survie a night, You'll be directed to a screen upholding a clipboard which in no order show alongside checkmark boxes are survivors, barricade health and weapon searches.
Gameplay: Survivors are the other civilians who surived the apocalypse and with enough search they will become allies and help take down the 35000 designed zombies.
The AI aren't top notch, but they're ok. They don't shoot often but if you want barricades back to health and finding weapons then you're gonna need em'.
Barricade is of course the thing that is guarding you between the enemy and you. If this barricade is destroyed, you can say goodbye to your comrades(they'll run away) and yourself as well. Unless you've got a chainsaw up your sleeve, you're dead. That's why there's a repairment for the barricade, in case it's in bad shape. The health bar is at 100.
Weapon searches are the nest big thing. There's 11 of these and hours are of course spent on this. After the hours spent there will be a find-o-meter next to the clipboard highing the rates of you aquiring a gun or a weapon. It's best to have survivors search for it rather than you as it takes a couple of overlapping hours.
From a small pistol to a gorgeous chainsaw, I assure you'll fall in love with all of them. Especially the weapon you get last :)
You'll know when a night is over when the sun rises of course, and then it's rinse and repeat. People might say it repetitive but for reasons the gameplay will always make you come back for more. The ending isn't very climatic but it fits enough and has a movie-type of ending to a horror movie.
Sounds: The sounds in LS are absolutely wonderful, with a grim feeling at the main menu. The sound effects from the weapons are perfect, with grimey backlash when pulling the trigger. This notable from the shotguns, with beautiful succession. You'll hear sounds from the zombies as you kill them or when they charge at you. Other than that and your basic music, it's a pretty quiet game.
Replay Value: There's tons of replay value when playing LS. Although it might not seem much. you might wanna somtimes replay on getting most of the weapons, see how many times you do not die, play it with one weapon only, how many survivors who can be withstand or any kind of challenge really.
Others: Other notables is the layout of LS. Just as the clipboard, you'll see notepad tips, diaries and some sublinimal messages when playing the game. This adds the feel you're on the verge of surviving by retaining human mentality. There's about 3500 designed zombies, so you'll come across loads of different dead brained freaks (Clown FTW).
Overall: Overall, LS is a great zombie/survival game which should be played by fans of the genre or someone look for fun. LS packs in great gameplay, array of weapons, lively abstracts and great mechanics. Con-Artists skyrockets his fame with a wonderful game and deserves the credit. LS is one of the best, if not the best flash game on NG and on the internet to date.
P.S. LS2 is out on ArmourGames. Con-Artists is fixing up the bugs before submitting it to NG. I'll review when it comes out on here.
