Reviews for "The Last Stand."

This defies the zombie survival guide...

but I like it. This is similar to most surivival games but this one actually had an end. The only real problem is, is that zombies can't run and animals can't be zombies. I know this was only added for a more difficult effect. I just want you to know that.

This is an awesome game

Not much I can say that hasn't been said. This is the best flash game I've ever played. Very good job.

Pretty freaking good.

First, the review:

It might be the best in the genre of games involving shooting the hell out of zombies, and that's a damn lot of games.

Several suggestions would be to have upgrades for the barricades and weapons, a higher possible number of survivors, last two weapons made better, more variation in how the zombies could attack, MUCH longer nights, some more varied types of weapons (I'm thinking something along the lines of a grenade launcher).

The hour allocation system is brilliant and original, don't change that if you ever make another.

-----------------------------

Now for the easiest way to win this game. Spend all 12 of your hours after the first day to look for survivors, if you have around 4, get a couple weapon upgrades while getting your survivors to 7, from there, simply coast through the rest of the game getting the remainder of the upgrades.

Note: you will NOT make it further than night 3 or 4 with no other survivors.

Almost perfection.

Here's the deal...
I've been visiting Newgrounds regularly for many a year now, and never until today have I felt the need for an account here, as I am not a Flash artist myself. However...
This game is so near to perfection that it might as well -be- perfect. The one thing that annoyed me only very slightly was the sound for the AK47, but that annoyance pales into insignificance next to the rest of the game.
I loved the weapons, throughout the game they all felt powerful and up to the task, and I loved the bullet drop. The other aspect of the weapons physics I found really interesting, almost turning this 2d game into semi 3d with the way you can spray bullets into different 'rows' from one position.
The zombies were pristine, from the detailed faces right down to their explodable kneecaps. Absolutely spot on. (And hilarious.)
The 'shopping' aspect of the game was excellent. All very well balanced. Using survivors instead of turrets was a brilliant move, and the extra healing power was much appreciated. I also liked that all the weapons had infinite ammo, which isn't suitable for many games, but worked very well here.
So all in all, this is THE best defense game I have ever played, and it's in my non-existent top 5 Flash games ever. I can see every second of the 8 months work you put into this, and is all the more impressive for the fact that it's your first game.
I just wish I could crank up the difficulty and do another 20 days with nothing but the final weapon...

Fun game, but...

It would have been helpful to have a crosshair. Mine disappeared after the first day and I had to right click the mouse to get the little hand symbol to use as a makeshift crosshair. Please fix that problem if possible. Other than that, the game was well made, although I don't know why you make the uzi the best gun in the game. The M4A1 and AK47 had fewer bullets in the clip and did less damage than the uzi which I should have used throughout the entire game. I liked the concept of finding survivors and weapons, but maybe for your next game you could make this into a side-scroller or something?
