Redefines zombie survival flash
Out of all the defence games involving zombies, this stands above the rest in terms of graphics and general layout. It brings out the survivalist desperation which games like this should have, by adding story to the game.
It explains where the weapons come from, and instead of buying them from some store like you would obviously do during a tense zombie seige, you have to search for them during daylight hours.
The attacking zombies are varied and detailed. Notice the dragging limbs, frantic sprinting, weapons planted in heads, missing arms, wounds. Not to mention zombie dogs.
Another cool thing was the dress of your player and the survivors. They were all carrying ammo pouches and wore cammoflague clothing. Everytime you reloaded, you actually saw your player take a clip and reload his gun-detail like this gets my attention.
As for the playability-it becomes fairly easy as soon as you stumble upon the first rapid fire weapon, then almost unloosable once you grab hold of the uzi. Alot of people praising the rifle, but I found it too slow, plus half the time my shots passed through the enemy. Shotgun was good during fire, but again not quick enough to handle the spped of the zombies. I found the first 3 or so levels pretty on the edge as my finger was clicking the fire button at lightspeed trying to kill them damn zombies!!, and I was finishing with hardly any health. But as soon as the first survivor arrives it picks up abit.
I found myself doing most of the shooting, as my boys weren't too helpful at taking down the zombies, but they sure came in handy when it came to daylight hours.
All in all, this is first class game despite afew flaws. Its the kinda game I'll be returning to. Brilliant for a first attempt, and I hope the next game will be just as good if not better.
