Best Defence Game Ever!

This has been the best defence (and just best) game I've probably ever played! Keep up the good work! :)

my time well spent

I'll say it again: my time (or anyone's) was well spent here. The graphics were very smooth and well-animated, the premise of the game is classic and entertaining, and the fun-factor of shooting zombies is very high.

Two criticisms though: I had no problem at all keeping all the survivors alive, getting all the weapons in good time, and keeping the barricade at 100%; put simply, the default difficulty was too easy for me. I think that adjustments for night "duration", zombie numbers, or even just a general difficulty setting would've been appreciated. Two: the Barrett sound effect is a little on the exaggerated side.

The King has arrived.

Fantastic work. I love the detail that you put into the game. The painstaking work that must have gone into the combat, the unit designs, and then to top it off you put effort into your sound design.

This game is the best Zombie flash game on the internet, and you've created the gold standard to which all other flash game makers (not just Zombie games) should aspire to.

You really did a great job not only creating a compelling atmosphere, but you also covered well above and beyond the basics of Zombie survival.

The only things I can recommend in any sort of sequel or future flash production are that the machine guns felt imbalanced. i could mow down more zombies with a Uzi than I could with a M-16 or a Ak-47. And the Chainsaw.... really fun, but ultimately broken. I would recommend that given it's high ammo count, and it's high damage, make it unreloadable. So then players couldn't just pick things off, chainsaw the zombies, and repair the 20 points of damage each round.

I would also love to equip the survivors with weaponry (instead of just hoping to get a guy with a rifle or Magnum).

I also found myself forgetting to check the journals, so you might want to make them more apparent, or put them on as apart of the background.

I loved the stats, but they felt shallow. I also disliked the time limit of 20 days. Perhaps as your survivor count grows, in the future you would have to manage more stats. Such as Ammunition, food, materials, sleep, etc. Just a thought.

Freakin' incredible!

The gameplay was amazing, the choice of weapons was great [My favorite combo was the Barett and the chainsaw.], the variations in the zombie was great [ie: the swat and soldier with the body armor], the sound was incredible.

Now for the things I didn't like too much. I agree with JimmyDimples about the sleep thing. It's an interesting concept that could make the game even better than it already is. Maybe a limited amount of clips and when you ran out you had plenty of projectiles [ie: molotov cocktails, grenades, javelins, bow and arrow]. I'll definitely be looking for a sequel maybe, and it would be amazingly hilarious if you did put the javelin in. Oh, man. I'd love to be able to pierce a zombie with that.

Setting should be in other places. Other than all of those things I mentioned, this was the best game I have played in years. Not just on Newgrounds, but anywhere.

Huge monster review... for a HUGE monster game!

Okay, I admit I'm not a zombie/buckets-o'-blood-pourin '-outta-everybody's head fan. Still, this game is arguably the greatest thing that's EVER hit Newgrounds.

PLUSES:

Graphics do the job very nicely. I was particularly impressed with the sunrise when the night was over.

Variety of zombie characters to blast: skinnies, fatties, and the cops and soldiers as well.

On that tack, the challenges and strategy of taking each zombie down was pretty good, too.

The sound fx are off the hook: gun shots, even the crickets in the night.

Good variety of weaponry for what we've got. It's pretty recreational, being able to pick and choose and seeing what they all do, and the challenges of reloading.

All under 4.4 MB! Impressive!

MINUSES:

Slowdown on weaker, older computers, but that's a fact of life.

A tad too easy once you get the UMP 45... autofire will do that.

Some cool, appreciable features are a bit TOO easy to miss... the diary (with some actual PLOT in it) in the workshop/gun rack was easily overlooked, and I didn't catch it until after a handful of plays. Click on it from day to day next time you play, folks!

Yes, yes, I realize this is zombie blasting, not The Care Bears Movie, but I think it's a bit of a shame I can't in good conscience show this to the younger set without giving them nightmares.

SEQUEL SUGGESTIONS:

More choice of weaponry. Maybe something explosive like grenades or firey like Molotov cocktails, or even improvised like pipe bombs, nail guns, or other power tools. Maybe something with a weed-killer sprayer full of gasoline to soak the zombies, and throw a firebomb, or even just a match to start the bonfire. (The hitch there... don't let the flames get too close to the barrier.)

Britain was a good locale, but maybe we could put The Last Stand 2 in Australia or America (weapon searching should be MUCH easier there ;-P).

Maybe also have more than the backwoods as your place to stand. How about holing up in a desert, or on the beach, the city, or in true Dawn of the Dead fashion... the mall!

In this one, you can dedicate X hours for barrier repair, Y hours for searching for weapons, Z hours for finding other survivors... and NONE for sleep?! I don't think I'd last 2 or 3 days like that, let alone 20. That'd be good for realism next time, with your aim faltering in game play if you don't stay on top of it.

Celebrity zombies. Using individual characters like the priest, the biker dude, escaped prisoners, the reporter and all was a nice touch. Maybe put up some other characters that we'd LOVE to blast to Kingdom Come! *COUGH cough coughBritneycough coughTeletubbiescough coughOsamacough coughDonaldTrumpcough.*

I'll probably think up more by the time I hit Submit, but those are my suggestions. As it stands, though... you did a frackin' spectacular job. Bravo, congratulations, and send more please.
