Reviews for "Tau'ri : Bedrock"

Creative

At a first glance, this game may seem simplistic, basic, and 'noobish work'. But when looked at in depth, this game is a creative idea. The bedrock physics are something I've seen in another game...but what would make a bit more sense is if there was actually some small guy pushing the bedrock around. But then again, the rocky guy doesn't make sense either. Being able to slip through holes to move around is also creative. So overall, you've got quite an imagination.

Talented.

here is my most constructive review yet:

Graphics: Very sharp not detailed and very colourful. very minimalistic (in a good way) adds more effect to the game and really creates an impact and gives a feel for the style of game

Style: Completely original, storyline was basic but it compelled me to finish it to get the rock home safely. Simple But Effective

Sound: The sound was very animated which fitted in with the whole game it was very catchy and tuneful. Possible improvement (doesnt have to be done), is mabye a new tune for each level.

Violence: There was none (unless you consider pushing a rock 'violently' through the level and throwing of cliffs ! lol)

Interactivity: The controls were very basic and not complicated (it only consits of four buttons!) The scenery also interactied with the orange rock ( Sorry i dont know what it's called!) and the normal rock.

Humour: There is none. it is a very serious game about getting a rock back to its parent.

Miscellaneous: Sometimes the rock went inside the orange thing and you could roll around with it inside of you, but your movement was slowed down slightly. Menu was also very Minimalistic no fancy things and it gave it a very nice feel and it was not overdone (if you know what i mean as in some games, they make things so fancy to try and get high scroes it counfuses people and slows down computers). Ther was a password screen, Which i found very handy.

Physics were very accurate. Especially the buoyancy on the orange thing when it was in the water.

What else can i say it as a very well made game. Either a sequel to come of it or more games of this type. Keep up the good work.

Huw

Good idea with the preloader.

I liked the fact that you used a preloader game, that always scores extra points. Good job.

dELtaluca responds:

the preloader actually started off as a seperate experimental engine, but i decided to fit it into a preloader.

its actually more complicated than it might seem, its all mathematicaly based on collision time, finding the exact time at which objects collide and handling them seperately, if you hold the X button then drag out and let go, all the balls have moved, what it actually does, is run through the entire simulation of how long you paused it for :)

smushy ball of strength

those 3.5 years definately payed off. this quite lovely.
the idea is almost simple... but it totally works.
it's cute and music doesn't get annoying

i wish you had more games because this game is sooo much better than alot of the games on the top 10 area... that's just my opinion though

dELtaluca responds:

thanks :) i like the review title, i might use it in the future!

Not bad

Kind of reminds me of Gish. I had a hard time getting that rock out.
