Reviews for "Pandemic: EoM"

...

Well, I must say I don't like it...

In the other one, the strategy played a large role, but this one is
PURE LUCK! I found myself around 5 times having every country infected but one, with a high level virus and not being able to infect the last one (the planes landed ever on infected countries, even with 3-4 planes per turn) UNTIL THE LAST ONE DEVELOPED THE CURE...

Could have been a lot better if it wanst so dependant on luck...

Personally I liked the first

First off. I couldn't figure out how to kill anyone. By the time I killed one person South America had a cure. The graphics in this game were much worse then those of the first. Better music would be good. I find my self muting it. The style was what made the first one excellent, and this sequal is too little, way to early.

too hard

you made it too hard :\

The first was WAY better.

Man, the direction you took had a lot of potential, and i was looking foward for your next one.. but the results are not good.

The game concept is fun... But the mechanics behind it are flawed.

You have to waste countless points on trying to infect places... or just to continue to exist.
Improductive.
Irrealistic.
Not fun.
My virus is potentially weaker because it want to infect water, or the airport (it works.. but only a few times and you have to re-try after, even when the country is fully infected, AND it might fail; because the plane can go back to his starting location)..

The first pandemic was funnier since you could actually do something creative about your tactics. And also, the infection was working automaticaly, Like, just as a real disease do.

Now EVERYTHING (and his grand mother) is focused against us.
Its like the world is made of airtight borders and super-effective infrastructures that cant fail. In the real world, borders and infrastructures tend to be only moderately effective.

Now, i gotta spend 90% of my points just to try not to vanish out of thin air. Because infection does not work! I must CHOOSE to infect or else nothing happen! Weee! It works like a gun; if you dont shoot, nothing happens!
Reducing lethality can end up making the people suddently cured.
Why? They were infected a minute ago.. right?!

You cant make a no-leathality high infection disease. It just wont work. Because no lethality STILL KILLS (and a lot, go figure, i was thinking that zero was equal to nothing, but in your game it seems to be actually equal to one..).

The cost for upgrades is increasing too quickly, and just getting level 4 put us in a choice where its either make a lot of actions, or get that single, more of less tangible point.

I dont understand the logic behind the point gains. It doent seem to be solely linked to the infected pop.

The curing process is completely stupid. If they suceed at getting 5 points, you basicaly lose, since their cure is magically capable at adapting to any changes of the disease and any kind of intrusion from outside. Have you ever heard about mutations and new varieties of the same disease?
Oh and why when a country succeed at getting 5 dots, he doesnt simply give it to all the other countries? It would simply make us lose.. faster, and be a great deal more credible.
I would see the cure level to be a resistance to the spread of the disease.

The option to fight the cure is a interestingly weird one, since you can increase your drug resistance... (wich cost a lot of points) and fight the cure (that cost also a lot of points, since you succeed once in about ten tries). Two ways to spend points to reach more or less the same objective, nice try at giving the player choices, but when you have to fight on ten fronts and only have the ressources to fight for one, you lose.

And i liked the first pandemic music more.

I would really like to see "events" like riots when a country is heavily infected and the cure isnt progressing. And it gives a small but noticeable chance of increasing the infection and to breach the borders. Or maybe "massive emigration", or "Military blockades" ect. And i would also like to be able, again, to choose the specifications of our disease and its effects, like Pandemic 1. It gives "color" to our little virus.

not too good.

It wasn't too good. Almost like the original, and nearly impossible to beat on any real scale. Confusing to learn to play at first, and one hell of a learning curve. Next time better instructions would make it somewhat better, but, meh.
