Dammit I'm late!
I really wish I could have reviewed this earlier. -_-
Anyway I like the fight and the plot is great.
By the way, jut curious, is the sixth one gonna be released anytime soon? Just wondering.

The Best Ever Series I Eva Saw
This Is A Great Series I can't wait till SMBZ:6
aots is putting this on their show.
oh
my
freakin
gawd.
anyhow, this is possibly better that the actual show. sprite work is amazing. oh yeah, and all of what that guy said below me.
Finally, some real action.
Hey man, This is Johnathan Reynolds, otherwise known worldwide as Jay Rey. (Doesn't ring a bell? For a memory jog; I've been on the air multiple times, including G4TV, reviewing some of the net's Best Video's and Flash Games.)
So forget about me for a sec... s'all about you! I completely agree with you, there not being any half decent DBZ/Mario Parodies and such. I was actually checking out YouTube for some new stuff to display on 'Attack of the Show'. I went from 'Sonic Redubs', to 'Sonic vs. Metal', to this. And I've gotta say, this is some damn good work.
It's a good thing that there are still people with major skill out there in animation development. You took what you knew about the Sonic/Mario/DragonBall Z universes, and not only fused them together... but contributed more than enough of your personal touch, further increasing the battle style of all battles that occurred in you movies.
Review of SMBZ - Ep. 1-5
Graphics
Wow. Just wow. You took not only any of every sprite from the games themselves, but also included custom images. Very important when showing the character's current mood or state. Excellent work.
Style
This goes entirely with the graphic works, showing how skilled you have to be to make something that's 'not' appear like you want it to. Things to highlight would be your alternate intros upon clicking the 'Play' button, and your replication of DBZ's Episode Screen and "Finishing Theme", I believe that's what the song is called. I think you completely nailed this.
Sound
Wow man... not only did you choose the right mix of sound effects, but you also threw a few voice rips in the mix! I think that everything was timed perfectly, the music even showing the horror on everybody's face.
I.E. - Mortal Kombat's 'Fatality' Theme, and the many "MARIO!" screams of Luigi. Loved the Super Mario Bros. Remix as your title screen.
Violence
The incredible battle scenes, specifically in Episodes 4 & 5, showed us all moves and combos we never initially thought possible. You don't even need to worry about the category.
Humor
As this is supposed to by a very serious storyline, during EVERY fight, I found myself... how do I say... Laughing my ass off? How one could get owned so badly, especially in Episode 4, is beyond me. If you keep this up you're already having something waiting in your future.
As for the Bad Sides...? I honestly couldn't find any. I actually had to watch every movie over and over again to LOOK for anything negative. I failed. Best part is... I've become a fan of yours. As a matter of fact, BAM. This is what we need to see next "AOTS".
I'll try to get a preview of your flash movie(s) on air when I guest star on G4TV, 5/29/2007 11pm ET/PT.
Keep this up man, we're loving it.
P.S. Sorry for the long review. But you know how it goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, and seeing how many frames you put in each movie? Best I could do was summarize it.
Wow, awesome. I heard Randy Solems Flashes have been featured on AOTS. I never would have thought my series would get the same spotlight.
In actual fact. I'm very near to completing episode 6, so hopefully that can make a feature on the show.
I'm not entirely sure if I can get G4 here in the UK. It would be a shame to miss it. But either way, I look forward to hearing how it does on the show. =D
This rocks.
Can't wait for the next episode. I'm going to favorite all of the episodes and vote 5 on them whenever possible.
Your entire series is amazing. The sprites are well animated and everything looks perfect. The action feels just like DBZ and the characters are all portrayed well. The choices of sounds and music couldn't have been better, and the storyline is simple but compelling.
Still, I'd say my favorite episode was #3. Please make sure you jampack the 6th episode with just as much action and quality to meet the sky-high standards you've created. Even if it takes you longer.
And I'd like to see this series go on for a long time. If it ends soon, at least make a game about it afterwards to keep people interested. This series is an inspiring piece of work, and I hope that all your creativity and hard work brings you a happy future.
