Reviews for "Candy Cane Crisis"

To the question asked before me...

The song is Super Mario's Sleigh Ride by the One-Ups.

But, uhm, yes, it's pretty good! Though I'm a bit confused by what we are supposed to try to do: make combos or collect the canes? It's pretty hard, the way things are placed, to do both.

TrueDarkness responds:

Heh, you can pretty much do both. Or none =p
Your objective is to collect candy canes, but combos are a detour, and something fun to do in game! Thanks a lot :)

...err...

Why is Santa so bad? You ruined my memories of the man!! xD
Anyway... this remembers me of Super Mario

TrueDarkness responds:

Haha, er, thanks! =p

Without the Glitches

It would've been so much better..

Glitch report:
4th level where santa gt jump up and up... if you go off too left OR right... it kills santa..
Also.. it kinda sux that when you jump up .. and then you're suddenly on the platform.. and the snowman's right there.. and you die...

On the first sleigh level.. I can't move backwards.. Other words. .. i can't move it so my sleigh is back a bit more so more of the screen is revealed before my sleight gets there.

Good idea.. just got bugs to squish

Pretty Good!

Meant to review this earlier. Sorry for the delay.

Review:
I liked the Christmas-Mario cross. Highly original. The game was a little bit repetitive, though.

Graphics:
Your sprites look great, especially since they look like you made them. A+

Style/Gameplay:
As I said before, the game was great in idea, but the levels began to look very dull. Perhaps in a sequel you could change up the levels so that there are different worlds to explore. Perhaps you could also change up the enemies, as well. I have no complaints, however, to what you have already. Everything looks great!

Sound:
The sound effects taken directly from Mario help add to the nice affect this game had. The music was great, too! They helped add even more to the game. Nice choice!

Violence:
Besides the classic jumping on the enemy that is featured in Mario, there's really no violence that I can detect. It is unneeded, however. This game is great without it.

Interactivity:
The controls for this game were extremely simple and easy to understand, making it easy for anyone to pick up the game and learn it quickly. Nice!

Humor:
There wasn't anything particularly funny about the game, besides the fact that Santa was hopping around in snow to get back to his sleigh. Like violence, humor isn't necessarily needed in this game.

Overall:
This game was a great way for me to get into the Christmas spirit! Both the twist between Mario and the holiday season and the wonderful music got me ready to celebrate. In the future, just try to mix things up a little bit in appearance, but this game was great as is. I look forward to seeing more from you in the near future!

Another Christmas game I play every year

While I admit the game s controls are a bit slippery to get the hold of the gaame has an amazing overclockede remix song based off of Mario World which is just so damn awesome. And that said it's an oldie but goodie!
