Reviews for "Blockhead: Episode 8"

Merry Ghostmas to you too!

I thought that this episode wasn't really as good as the previous ones but it was still good none the less. It really dragged on and adventually got boring. The song Blockhead was singing was preety funny but wasn't anything funny enough to make you laugh out loud. I liked the fact that you can here the song again after the credits with subtitles. If it's not a problem can you please PM me the lyrics to it?

4/5

Blockhead's "conscience" = "carl" from ATHF

You responded to one of your reviews with this:

"When I used to watch ATHF, I would quote Carl and have peopel tell me what a bad impersonation I do. Then I give a husky (not whiny) NY (not NJ) accent to an overweight gent, and then suddenly the two are EXACTLY alike. Haha, the world's not fair, is it? :D

Note: (I'll point out something I've said before because you claim not to have seen many of my other submissions) I have dated proof that my characters came before Carl (or even Adult Swim in its entirety, in fact), so maybe it is not I who has been influenced, but the other way around? Eh? Eh?? I even had to "un-Carl" the Conscience by removing his original wifebeater and sandals concept. Me: 0, World: 2"

I just wanted to know what proof you have of your "conscience" character being developed before carl from ATHF, because i find that really hard to believe, go watch your first one again, i'm not sure how long its been since you watched it, but the whole carl thing shows bigtime in that one. I've mentioned this before in another blockhead review or 2, but if you would just admit where you got the idea for the character from, i wouldn't keep rambling on about it. So please, i must see the proof that the voice, illustration & attitude were developed before ATHF. Other than that, great artwork/animation, not my kind of comedy, but still very very good...

What is this, a witch hunt? At least you commented on the cartoon instead of just pulling this habeas corpus crap. This isn't a court of law ("thank you, judicial system!" haha).

All my life, I've had little ideas of my own just randomly show up in games and movies some time later. Let me give you as few instances.

Example #1: that Vazequez guy that does Invader Zim? The first five frames of one of his Happy Noodle Boys comics is an exact replica of one of my 1993 signed and dated Blockhead comics. It's almost creepy, because I seriously doubt that he stole his ideas from a middle schooler, and I didn't even hear about JTHM or HNB until '98, when my cousin noticed how identical they were and showed me.

Example #2: When I was like 8 or so, my little friends and I used to draw Mario. A LOT. We loved Nintendo, but who didn't? Anyway, before the Super Nintendo was even invented, I had this sweet idea for Mario to ride on the back of this frog creature that could use his tongue to pick up objects and devour enemies. Hmmm...sound like another Mario character you know? One that did not come around for another year or two? Sadly, all of my childhood art has been lost and I have no proof of this (other than witness testimony, but screw it).

Anyway, the proof I do have is a rough concept and original script for a "Graphic Novel" I wanted to do in 2000. The old Conscience was thin and VERY old, but I made the "new" Conscience fat when it occorued to me that all he has left is this world is his love of vice, and because heroin and cocaine would be a little rough on a "clean" cartoon, I figured it would be drinking instead.

Oh yeah, and as for the voice, I got that from my days listening to the Jerky Boys, which I will freely admit. They were my inspiration for doing my own voice acting.

P.S. - My mother, who has seen ATHF, thinks that the Conscience resembles my father. Haha.

If is looks and smells like BlockHead...

... it probably is Blockhead.

Dunno what all the whinning in the review is all about but the cartoon look pretty Blockhead to me, perhaps with a touch of Holloween.

In fact this cartoon seems to have take the series up a notch with all the singing and humor. Good job and looking forward to the next one.

Nice.

I liked the Alien ending.

Pretty good but...

It's not as great as the others, sorry "^^ but this one was a little disappointing, though I did have a good laugh at the wallet part, anyways, you did a good job but I there could have been more, I don't know, maybe it's just me, I don't like the whole singing type of things in sitcom type stuff like this
