i like the screaming XD
the screams made me laugh!! fun game ... although, i don't like how if you die once you have to start all over, and how you can't sell back stuff. it'd be fun if there were other places to go like a tavern or something. good game though!

Some thoughts for a sequel: Add Lions and animals to fight on the side, it can be like a minigame to build stats. Add giant trolls and such to the stadium as like an end boss or something. A save feature would add a lot. As far as weapons, add: Cross bows, spears, a net (could slow down opponent or keep them pinned while you proceed to whale on them) and pitchforks. And add a lot more gore to the precedings and I think you have something there.
Excellent suggestions! Beasts like lions and boars would really mix things up in there.
Save game after every champion is being built as we speak. There's a church which sells healing potions and resurrection points... which you kind of need seeing as you lose your head a fair bit :)

4 Bugs/Errors Hold Back This Gem
1. ALL enemies can reach farther than you can
2. Your own weapon's reach never increases
3. You need a save feature
4. You automatically lose the 9th fight, but only on the version which is up here on Newgrounds. The version on your site allows you to continue beyond that point, so don't use it as reference for testing this.
Having lost many a time, (mainly to the deplorable 9th fight bug) I resorted to thinking somewhat outside the buggy combat system. Rather than trying any more trial and error of luck, I moved into developing strength,agility, and stamina only, and aiming completely for pushing my opponents to their deaths. All I needed then to worry about was having enough health as not to be 1-shot by their 'magical' swing from 5 feet away, which happened much too often. Fun game, but need to be able to train.
It's hard to play this game when you can't trian on something, so you can upgrade your armor and become godly. You should make a training arena. But good game otherwise, I like the combat style, it's fun.
