As the guy before me said...
...I really, really want to love this game. After all, the concept is very intriguing, and the battle system is very fun (when you're lucky). I played it over and over again, with equal interest.
The problem is WHY I played it over and over again. Because, damn, if you're not lucky, you're screwed. First of all, if someone hits you in the chest, and you don't have a breastplate, you're screwed. And, when the brestplate costs about 800 gold at the games start (80% of the money you have), that makes life very difficult. The amount of money you get from each round isn't really enough to allow you to upgrade, or even buy all the types of armor, at a fast enough pace.
But man, luck really bites sometimes. I can have crappy armor and a dagger, enter a round with someone ten times stronger than me, and win. But then I'll actually have decent armor, a weapon, and stats, enter and fight a pretty weak guy, and have him tear me apart!
My ultimate suggestion for this game? Some sort of continue function. Getting a decent way into the game, getting killed by some little weakling, and then having to start ALL over made me die a little on the inside. Its a great game, but I feel like all I'm doing is crossing my fingers, and when you die...you just don't feel like continuing. Still, like I said, good game. I gave you a four.
