Interesting movie.
How much can interpretations of an abstract thing, like an automated flash portal, be the same, exactly?
I have been toying with the same idea for a long time, and I was pretty annoyed when this hit frontpage: only because when I release my version of this, I'll be accused of stealing this idea.
It was executed very well, and the drawings were spectacular. But then again, some things were a bit illogical.
I understand that this whole movie is logical in your view of the newgrounds portal, but what does a flying white thing have to do with submission? As I said, I understand this must make sense to you, but to an outsider like me it doesn't make sense.
When making a movie like this, you must make sure the viewer understands what's going on, so that the viewer has an idea of how you would expect the portal to work in a 3 dimensional world, thus enjoying it more, voting higher on it.
The last part doesn't really matter, but a well explained movie is more enjoyable to watch.
Also, I only understood what happened at the end when watching it the second time: The movie was seperated from the list of under judgement movies, being given a blue aura, and a screenshot of the portal with a new movie, blue aura, appears. Again, not very explanatory - if I were to watch this once, I wouldn't have understood this.
The idea of this flash was good, yet not new. I cannot accuse you of being lame though, because I myself am working on this very same project. Also, this idea is too obvious AND good to be used only once: I bet every flash artist on Newgrounds has sat to think about this. I have attempted multiple times to do this, but failed each time due to lack of talent.
In the end, I am fascinated looking in other people's minds like this, and I love how our minds match on this subject: a pipe formed entrance is exactly how my idea starts too. From there it turns different though: I haven't thought of using a (trans-dimensional?) gate to the portal.
I voted five on this, because this idea is interesting to me, and definetely inspiring.
