Great concept, great execution, minimal glitches, i would have to give you an A,
But one thing really annoyed me.
With the homing launcher, whenever you fire it, it goes right back at you! please fix.

awesome flash game, but here's 2 small suggestions
This was a great game. It didn't get boring very quickly like a lot of flash games tend to do. The graphics were nice, there was a great variety with sound, and the controls were also pretty good. However, there are two things that I think can make this game go from "absolutely amazing" to "totally awesomely amazing".
Like many others have said, this game reminds me of Super Smash Bros, and my suggestions do sort of come from the game.
#1. There should be a way to drop down to the next lowest level. For example, if a room has 3 platforms, one on top of the other, and I want to drop down from the top platform to the middle platform (say there's an item there I want to get), there's no easy way to drop down. In super smash bros. you could just hold the "down" button and you'd fall to the next lowest level. I suggest that you change the shield to a different key like "space bar" (you can make pause "p" or something... but that's irrelevent). That way we could use the down key to drop down a level.
# 2. I wish there was a "practice mode". In practice mode there could either be no enemies or one enemy that just stands still. That way we can test out different attacks and see how they work. It would also be VERY nice if we could test out the different items (even if it's only the ones we've unlocked) in practice mode. Many weapons have 2 modes of fire, and it's difficult to test and see which works best in a given situation when your enemy's beating you up. In "practice mode", I suggest we be allowed to equip any weapon we've unlocked with unlimited ammo, and we could test it out as much as we want.
All in all, it's a GREAT game, but I think this would make it a tiny bit better.

A decent game
It was a decent game -- well presented, and with good graphics. I have to admit, however, that I got bored pretty soon. It didn't quite have the flow of Super Smash Bros., which I assume you were copying (nothing wrong with that). There should have been more attack options. The AI also seemed a bit dumb, but maybe it would be more fun with two human players. An excellent effort, overall. A little tweaking, and this game could be perfect.
