Brilliant. Absolutly Brilliant.
Its been a while since I've played a game of this calibur. Although there are no intricate controls that you have to master, its its simplicity and low key grusomeness that makes this game so worth playing.
After completing the game once flawlessly, I thought I had beaten it - but lo, there is a scoreboard at the end to see who can do it the fastest! Its then I realised how errors are easily made. I'm still playing it to get under 60 seconds.
An original concept thats been executed perfectly. I wondered why you didn't put the screams in while operating on the first level, then realised it was a good choice, as it would take away that creepy noir feeling of it all. Having letters addressed from the Royal Guard was a nice touch.
Another little tidbit is the distractions the game tries to pull on you to make you wobble your scalple, or lose your concentration - On the first level after striking the hammer once, you get a pool of blood appear to be trickling down your screen/face, which makes you flinch for a moment - increasing the time it takes you. The people who have got the first places on that leaderboard sure have earnt it.
The only, and I mean ONLY quarrell I have with this game is that I HAVE FOUND A BUG. And no, I'm not talking about the leeches in the second stage. If you complete the game once, replaying it will not reset the timer, or something. The first stage will always end up with a time of 0. So in order to get a high score you must reopen the game after one attempt, which isn't much of a chore, but it can be fixed.
Other then that, I love it. Definatly worth playing.
Voted 5, scored 10.
