You say this is your first game? Well it's pretty damn good. I sure hope there's a plan for a new, improved version of this game. You probably know the controls that are missing, and so am I, but it still an excellent game. I just have to say YOU ARE MY SAVIOUR! I've been wait forever for something like this. Good work. Oh yeah, and fix the problem with the screen only focusing on Player 1.

I will admit it was a bit laggey and there was a few glitches and speed problems, but as you touch up your flash skills you should definitely revisit this game., or @ least a sequel, id luv 2 play it when u get all the bugs worked out.
Yes there are many characters from sega and that arent supposed to be on SSB but it think that was the damn point.
If you are younger than this kid and bashing im because you have "better" flash skills than him, were all very proud of you, now shut the fuck up. If yoou want him to do any better offer advice or help, grow the hell up, you are on newgrounds, there are those who submit stick figures. Theres a whole damn collection. This obviously took work so go blam someone who slapped random stuff together.
I am a big fan of SSB Melee and i think this was very good, and being a HUGE FFVII fan i was thrilled 2 kno that u included cloud.
If i see any new Super Smash brothers Melee submissions from you assholes who critisize and h8 on this kid, then you can talk, until then keep livin on the goddamn internet, and stfu while the rest of us get on wit our lives, honestly grow up, let the kid enjoy his first flash game, which is pretty damn good, and if you dont like it, go play something else, stop trying 2 make these kids stop trying, he will improve if he even feels like makin games after you dumbasses critisize him like hes a pro. look who you judge before you start attackin him. true age has nothing to do wit it, but it aint no excuse... it says it right under the damn game icon. "My 1st flash game" jackasses.
To the author, good job, keep practisin. and i look forward 2 see wut you come up wit in tha future. plz make a sequel when you get a lil more experience wit games and flash, wit the same characters, possibly more and, wit more control, controls, and attacks. other than that Good Job.

I give you credit for creating such a game and pulling many things off well besides the most impoertant part... The gameplay.
It was very awkward to control and the physics seemed to be all over the place. It got very annoying with attacks and being attacked. It felt rushed. I can't say it's good as a whole because of that flaw but I, again, commend you with creating the synthetics(menu, scoring, ect...) alike the original.
Why I'm being so harsh? Because I'm in the middle of developing something along those lines and is holding up pretty well. I wish I could show you what I've done but I'm sworn to secrecy by my mates who say I must wait till it's finished. I mention this because the first thing I started with is how it plays. Still not complete but will continue to work on the play before moving onto other areas.
Hopefully, when I finish it, you can be just as harsh to mine because I know Flash is capable of delivering. We can't be lazy anymore. :P

To be honest I was quite amazed that you managed to fit in so many complex aspects of Super Smash Bros into flash alone. The whiners are forgetting that this is just a flash with limitations to game design that could never par up to the original but it does a damn good job in trying.
I respect this flash for the sheer balls of the creator in attempting to recreate a masterpiece in flash.
