The fact that this fell second to TANKMEN 1.5 is a mystery. Oh, wouldn't Newgrounds be great if people evaluated a submission on it's merits rather than the author who made it?
This submission was all-around great, the graphics and animation were very good, the writing was well done and proved to be entertaining, and even though this can be considered a "video game parody", it's still strikingly original.
I'm certain the sequel will do very well.
