Dun Dun Duuuuuun
I've always considered the "TRAPPED" series as one of key essential point-n-click adventure games to ever have graced the web. After five years, I'm starting to realize that the first installment of this once-iconic trilogy has finally started to fade in its nostalgia. First of all, I commend you for at least making the game look decent. Sure, the art is not as impressive today as it was a while back, and watching the animation of the Dan and Diala walking is hilarious, but it was still passable, and it looked like you were at least trying. The best part that I've found with these games though, was the voice acting. It may seem cheese, and some of it is definitely off-setting, but if it was handled a bit better, you would say that it's some of the highest quality voice acting in a game, yet. Now, the bad stuff. Obviously, the animation is weak. Like I said, watching that whole image of Diala and Dan walking and moving the bed is ridiculous, and the animation on some of their mouths are just sloppy. Also, why does Dan monologue about everything that's going on? It's cool if he explains the significance of an object or something, but when he keeps blurting out obvious inquiries, such as, "I unlocked the back door." or, "I turned on the light," or something along those lines, it makes you wonder why he's bringing up this information at all. That and the plot is just, well... lame. I mean, the twist at the end was pretty neat, but everything inbetween is just thrown together to pull together a sloppily constructed story, and the shooting mini-game was just there for no reason, what-so-ever. Also, why would Dan mention John 1:1 and explain how important it is, if I'm totally unable to read it? Ohwell.. to conclude, I still see this as one of the sole, classic point-n-click adventures on Newgrounds, but it still has a ton of major set-backs, mostly dealing with the plot, and complications with the artwork. But otherwise, if you're looking for a quick point-n-click, this piece does the job. But be sure to play the other two games in the trilogy, because that's when things get weird.
